Happy Thanksgiving Pettis County!

The Pettis County Courthouse 10.02.2021

Today the Pettis County Courthouse will be flying a commemorative flag in honor of the State of Missouri’s Bicentennial Celebrations. On September 18, 1820, the First General Assembly, composed of fifty-seven members (fourteen senators, forty-three representatives), convened at the Missouri Hotel in St. Louis. At 4:00pm that very day, the first Governor of the State of Missouri, Alexander McNair, delivered the first message. Thank you to Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Keh...oe for personally delivering the flag to Pettis County. #Missouri2021 #Missouri200 #MissouriBicentennial

PETTIS COUNTY COVID-19 TASK FORCE DAILY BRIEFING March 26, 2020... To communicate openly with county residents, this compilation of information from essential government service providers within Pettis County will be disseminated daily Monday thru Friday. This briefing will continue to be provided throughout the COVID-19 event. HEALTH CARE: Pettis County Health Center As of 3/26/20 Pettis County is reporting the first positive case of COVID-19. For additional information, please check the Pettis County Health Center Facebook page and website. The best way to stop the spread of the virus is to stay home if you are sick, stay 6 feet away from others including when doing necessary shopping, and wash your hands. If you are going to work, use as many precautions as possible. Many businesses are changing practices to protect those who come to work. Bothwell Regional Health Center The hospital is continuing to provide care for the community. Guidelines for testing are being updated as the situation changes. If you are ill, please contact your health care provider for more information on testing. All elective surgeries have been canceled to conserve supplies for healthcare workers to be able to take care of ill patients. Patients are being contacted about any current procedures scheduled. A NO VISITOR policy has been implemented. Special consideration will be given for patient guardians, significant others of delivering mothers, patient transportation and comfort care patients. Main entrance is closed. All patients will need to enter through the Emergency Department entrance. All Bothwell Clinics will begin to restrict visitors to 1 per patient and implement screening processes for all patients and visitors entering clinic facilities. There has been some confusion regarding the hospital exercising the line of credit. Hospitals using a line of credit during a time of unexpected demand is not unusual. As a city chartered hospital, this information is shared more publicly with elected officials. Katy Trail Community Health Has testing capability for individuals who are symptomatic and has the test ordered by a provider from their facility. Individuals without a provider should contact the clinic for assistance. Dental services and well patient visits are on hold until further notice. All medical visits are being scheduled using Zoom technology at all sites. Patients will be receiving additional information regarding this process. Hours of operation are 8-5 Monday through Friday and 9-1 on Saturday. If you are ill, please call the clinic at 660-826-4774 prior to arriving at the building. Pettis County Ambulance District (PCAD) Community residents who call for ambulance service will be asked more questions to better identify how best to serve them. PCAD staff will ask people to come to the door of their home if at all possible to limit the exposure of the crews. PCAD is working with changing protocols to provide the best possible care for everyone as well as protect the crews we all depend on. GOVERNMENT: Sedalia/Pettis County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) In communication with City of Sedalia and Pettis County officials to develop and maintain a community helpline. They are open to assist those needing to do business by appointment so we can adhere to the 6 foot social distancing. The courts are functioning normally as instructed to do so by the Missouri Supreme Court. Circuit Clerk’s office is providing services as normal. Maintenance is adding more hand sanitizer dispensers, also constantly cleaning surfaces and door knobs. FIRST RESPONDERS: Pettis County Sheriff’s Office The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office continues to conduct business as normal and is prepared to address issues as they arise. If you are sick, please wait until after symptoms clear before coming to the Sheriff's Office The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office would also like to remind the community to be aware of potential scams through e-mail and text messages during this time and never provide any personal information to someone they do not know. Sedalia Police Department The Sedalia police department continues to serve the community and operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have made more personal protective equipment available to every Sedalia Police Officer to help protect them from the virus We have also made operational changes that do not affect service but help limit exposure.
