Recognize anyone in this video or the red van? Detectives need help locating the witness and/or suspect in an incident where an unconscious woman's phone was stolen on 10/18 in the 1200 block of Lynch. If you have info, contact a 3rd Dist. Detective at 314-444-2500. A summary of the incident is below. Incident: Suspicious Death / Stealing Location: 1200 Block of Lynch Date/Time: 10/18/20 @ 1313... Victim: 64-year old Black Female Suspect: Unknown Male Officers received a call for a Sundry at an area hospital after the victim was brought in by EMS. Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was jogging in the area when she collapsed. The investigation also revealed that after the victim collapsed, the suspect exited a red van and stole the victim’s cell phone. EMS located the female and transported her to a hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The investigation is ongoing. See more

Attention Forest Park Visitors: Our Homicide Unit has requested support from the FBI to assist us in searching the Post-Dispatch Lake in Forest Park. This evidentiary search is relative to an ongoing homicide investigation and will last from 10/19 to 10/23. Picnic Island will be closed and there will be no watercraft rentals of any type at the Boathouse for Post-Dispatch Lake/Grand Basin. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the St. Louis Fire Department Dive Teams will als...o be assisting. There has been extensive coordination between the search teams and Forest Park Forever to ensure that there is a minimal impact to the visitors and wildlife in the park. Please do not be alarmed when you see these divers over the next week as there is NO threat to any visitors.

District 6 held a community roll call this afternoon at West Florissant and Acme in the Walnut Park West Neighborhood on the border of Jennings. St. Louis County Police Officers assigned to the Jennings Precint joined District 6. Commanders stressed the importance of information sharing and teamwork. Public Safety Director Jimmie Edwards, Alderman Pamela Boyd and Jennings Mayor Yolanda Austin all attended and thanked the officers for their work. Officers Lochhead and Officer Minor were given awards for their outstanding service.

Relative to the homicide of Bryant Wright on 10/12/20, officers arrested 43-year-old Dexter Wiggley & 42-year-old Cortez Eastwood. The Circuit Attorney's Office issued one count of Murder 1st, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm for both. #ArrestMade

The SLMPD is seeking re-accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). CALEA will examine all aspects of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations and support services. As part of the virtual on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments. The public may call (314) 444-1275 on Monday October 19, 2020 from 5:00 PM 7:00 PM or Tuesday October 20, 2020 from 1:00 PM 3:00 PM. Telephone comments are limited to ten minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.

Third District Detectives need assistance identifying/locating him relative to an assault that occurred on 7/22/20 in the 1300 block of S. 9th St. A woman was left with serious injuries to her face. Anyone with info can contact a detective at 314-444-2500. A summary of the incident is below. Incident: Assault 4th Degree Location: 1300 block of S. 9th Street Date/Time: 07/22/20 @ 2255... Victim #1: 55-year-old White Male Victim #2: 46-year-old White Female Victim #3: 18-year-old White Female Suspect: Black Male, wearing all black Officers responded to an Assault Just Occurred where the victims stated that victim #1 observed a large crowd in the middle of the street and tried to disburse the crowd. Words were exchanged and the suspect struck victim #1 on the face. When victims #2 and #3 intervened, the suspect struck those two victims on the face also. The crowd and the suspect left the scene prior to police arrival. Victims #2 and #3 complained of pain to their faces. EMS responded however no one was transported. The investigation is ongoing. The Circuit Attorney's Office issued one count of Assault 1st & Armed Criminal Action against Moore. Whalen was issued one count of Murder 1st & Armed Criminal Action. #ArrestMade
