Have you noticed higher electric usage this month? We have seen consistently lower daily temperatures this last month which leads to higher usage. Keep in mind that we offer many great resources such as our SmartHub Mobile App or website to monitor daily usage. We also offer Home Energy Audits to help identify home inefficiencies. Our programs are designed to help you manage your usage!

If anyone calls and demands payment over the phone threatening to disconnect your electric service, please hang up. Ozark Electric will NEVER ask, nor can we accept, payment over the phone. If there were any way possible to know of these scams ahead of time and stop them, we would certainly do that. Please know we are here for you 24/7 and are sorry there are people out there causing undue stress to our members with these scam calls!

It’s hunting season in the Ozarks! Before leaving for a hunting trip, make sure you have safety items to signal for help in case of an emergency. A cell phone, whistle, and flashlight are necessary items to carry with you throughout a hunting trip! Also, please mind power lines and electrical power equipment while hunting. Be safe, and good luck this season from your family at Ozark Electric Cooperative!

In 1937, Ozark Electric Cooperative was formed to provide electricity to unreached, rural areas. Cooperatives were known for powering farms and rural projects. Although, as communities began to grow and expand, rural farms soon became neighbors with urban life. Where Co-ops were once only providing power to rural areas, has since grown to serving cities, schools, businesses and more. Yes we still hold true to our rural roots, but we are greatly excited to help our communities, both rural and urban, continue to expand and grow.

If you are considering a residential or commercial solar installation, give us a call first. As your trusted energy resource, we would like to be a resource to help you determine if solar is the right choice for you. Some solar ads and solar companies can be scams that promise no electric bill or may promise that a utility company will be paying you, which is simply not true. Also, we do not engage in outbound calls or door-to-door sales for solar; if you receive a call or visit from a solar company claiming to be affiliated with Ozark Electric, please give us a call at (417) 466-2144 for clarification. It's Always a great day to be an Ozark Electric Co-op Member!
