Overcoming Children

On Wednesday we shared that we had a need come up with our kiddos. There had been an outbreak of scabies as well as some type of fungal infection. We made a post to share the financial need to get medications to treat the children as well as having the dorms fumigated. A couple hours later a lady (that I had never met before) overheard me on the phone talking about this need and walked up to me and and said that God told her to give me $100. I knew immediately it was for ...the medication. I walked inside the store to find her and thank her and tell her how she did in fact hear from God and how thankful I was for her being obedient. By the time we were done talking she had given me a check for an additional $900. I literally stood in Hobby Lobby crying like a baby. When I think about how much God cares for us it just blows my mind. These poor little orphaned children in Kenya that have nothing tangible to give to God are still loved so much by Him that He would impress on someone (a complete stranger) halfway around the world to meet their need. God has shown me so much through this situation and how we don’t earn His favor and love, He just gives it. Even when we feel unworthy or unqualified, He desires to meet our needs! We just wanted to share with you an update. We hope to get a newsletter in the mail in the very near future but until then we wanted to share some current information. As many of you know, a group from Frisco Church in Webb City, MO was planning to come to Kenya for a missions trip in July. However, due to COVID-19 that trip has been cancelled and they are planning to reschedule for 2021. The group from Frisco Church had been raising funds to purchase new shoes for all of o...ur students. They were not able to meet their goal of $9,000 BUT they were able to raise $6,158 which is incredible!!! They have wired the funds and we will be purchasing as many new pair of shoes that we can. In addition to the shoes, they also raised $1,000 for new uniforms for students. We will start with the students that have the greatest need and begin sewing their new uniforms immediately. In May we received more than normal rainfall in Kenya. We had terrible flooding and many homes were destroyed. We have been working tirelessly to provide makeshift housing for those who have lost their homes. Please continue to pray for this ministry and the work that is being done. We could not do what we are doing without you! Your monthly prayers and offerings are helping to change the world. We pray daily for God's blessing on each and every one of you.

Our shoe drive is still going on! $20 buys a brand new pair of shoes & socks for a child. These kids walk miles each way EVERY SINGLE DAY to get to school. So their one pair of shoes, if they even have any, are worn out and more than likely don’t fit anymore. We are so close to our goal! And we know we can crush it with your help!
