More pictures of the new pumper!
Your Olivette Fire Department received some pictures of our new firetruck in production! Enjoy some of the photos we have been given so far! This new truck will replace one of our 2005 twin pumpers we currently have in service!
Remember with the time change tomorrow to check and test your smoke detectors!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! As you start your holiday cooking remember some simple cooking safety tips from the IAFF. Some other things to keep in mind are: 1.) If you have a natural gas stove remember to crack a window or door to release the CO from the kitchen if you will be using your stove for more than a couple hours. 2.) Do not put water on a grease fire. Remove the pan/pot from any flammable source and put a lid over to smother it. 3.) Do not fry a frozen turkey and do not fry a turkey in an enclosed area.
Today, your Olivette Fire Department assisted Community-FPD with a residential structure fire with confirmed entrapment. Upon arrival on scene, 2710 assisted Community-FPD with a quick knock down of the fire. During a primary search, a victim was located and transported to a local hospital for treatment.
As we ring in the new year, remember to be smart with your decisions tonight! We want everyone to have a great time but, bad decisions have bad consequences and nobody wants that! Everybody make it home safe! Happy New Year from your Olivette Firefighters! We can’t to see what 2021 holds with us and our community!
Today, your Olivette firefighters responded to a residential structure fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. The owners cat was found suffering from smoke inhalation. Neighboring departments quickly assisted the cat and it is doing well.
Help out a neighboring department for a great cause.
On this date some nineteen years ago, our first responder family suffered the loss of 412 emergency workers who responded to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City. Among those lost were 343 firefighters of the New York City Fire Department; 37 police officers of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department; 23 police officers of the New York City Police Department; 8 emergency medical technicians and paramedics... from private emergency medical services; and 1 patrolman from the New York Fire Patrol. In all, a total of 2,565 civilians died in the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in a field in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Today we remember those who left their homes & families never to return again. We remember the sacrifices of those who gave their lives to save that of others whom they did not know. We remember those still suffering today as a result of the contaminants that they were exposed to during the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Today we remember, and #NeverForget!
TO OUR DONATORS TODAY THANK YOU!!!! You guys rocked it! In the short time of 5.5 hours, these wonderful people donated more than 60 pints of blood! That’s more than 180 possible lives that could be saved! We appreciate the hard work of the American Red Cross, our volunteers, and the City of Olivette for allowing us to host this blood drive. The final tally has been counted and the Fire Department has won our friendly competition! We can’t wait for our firetruck and ambulances to be spotless from a one of a kind Olivette-PD car wash. We want to thank everyone again for this amazing turn out. This will be the inaugural year of a reoccurring blood drive! So...if you missed the sign ups this year, be watching for the next one!
Today is the day from 1-6p come stop by and help your Olivette firefighters support a wonderful cause and beat the friendly competition between us and your Olivette-PD! Stickers are provided for either team you choose to donate too!
