Olean Christian Church

Thank God for the church! (I’m not talking about the building; I’m talking about the group of people who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.) Where we know that we can be accepted regardless of who we are or where we’ve been. We’re the greatest group on earth with the most important mission in the universe: to attract others by sharing the love of Jesus. This Sunday, May 23, is Pentecost Sunday. It’s a great holiday because it commemorates the beginning of the church.... It happened around 2000 years ago, and you can read about it in Acts, chapter 2. Unfortunately, we don’t do much to celebrate Pentecost. We should change that. We can invite others to join us on Sunday as we share the love of Jesus, and continue to welcome whoever wants to accept Jesus as Lord and join us. We can rededicate ourselves to the principles we read about in the book of Acts, and continue to reach out. As we worship this Sunday, we’ll continue in our journey through The Story (chapter 12) and look at the life of King David. Like us, he had his ups and downs in his relationships with God and his own family, and we can learn a lot from his experiences. Thank God for the church! See you Sunday. Lon DID YOU KNOW . . .
