This post is a response to a review, that was posted by daughter of our client. The case was about two 14 weeks old Yorkie puppies, that was presented to our clinic. These puppies each weighing 1lb at 14 weeks were not seen by our clinic until they were sick, the second one was presented to emergency clinic before coming to ours. They both were very small for their breed and age. Both puppies were infected with intestinal parasites. Both were treated for intestinal parasites and hypoglycemia. If you feel that my staff and I were negligent in any way, please, refer these cases to the Vet. Medical Board and we will be happy to transfer their records.

Happy Halloween! In order to help you keep your 4 legged family members safe, we just wanted to remind everyone to keep a close eye on your pets as ghosts and goblins head to your door for Trick-Or-Treating. Chocolates and other candies are just one of the dangers that can pose a problem for our pets tonight. Costumed children can be especially frightening for our shy pets as well as the costumes themselves on our pets can pose a hazard, preventing them from being able to s...ee as they join you in your festivities. Mischievous people can also pose a risk to pets left alone outside, so please keep your pets inside. If you have any concerns, you can reach Blue Pearl for any after hours emergencies at 816-554-4990 or the Animal Poison Control Center at 1-888-426-4435. There may be a fee associated with a call to the Animal Poison Control Center but it is well worth the peace of mind. Have a safe and happy Halloween! See more

Just a friendly note to remind you to start treating your pets for those pesky fleas and ticks. Dr. Dryden, our favorite parasitologist at K-State, said this year is going to be an especially bad year for ticks and we're already seeing evidence that tick season has started with a vengeance. Dr. Snyder and one of our staff members have currently seen live ticks where they live and this is in an area where they haven't seen ticks before! Ticks are not just a nuisance to you a...nd your pet but can cause a host of diseases such as Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme Disease, and Erlichiosis. Please stop by our clinic during our business ours to pick up a package of Frontline. We are currently running the buy 3 get 1 free or the buy 6 get 2 free promotion through the summer. If you have any questions about ticks and tick borne diseases, please give us a call and we'll be happy to assist you. See more

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Posted below are a couple of links reminding everyone of the holiday dangers to our pets this time of year. While it may be tempting to spoil them since they are such important members of our families, please do so by sticking with animal friendly options such as a special new toy, yummy dog and cat treats, or even a small amount of canned food. Our pets love a special treat now and then and you'll enjoy having a happy and healthy pet over the holidays! Thank you for your continued support of our clinic and we hope to see you next year for continued care for your four legged family members!
