It's almost here! On-line registration will be opening tomorrow. Please be aware that we will not be taking payments at this time, only registrations. Our goal is to keep this season as normal as we possibly can, but please understand that due to Covid-19 things may look a little different. We are working hard to ensure the safety of all participants in the program. We are still excited to get the season started and look forward to seeing everyone back!

Some scenes from tonight’s celebration. If you missed it, your gift from Upward will be in the church office beginning tomorrow morning until Friday morning. Thank you for your support of Upward Basketball! Registration will start October 1st for next year.

Today is a beautiful day for the Upward Celebration! Basketball players report by 5:15 in uniform. Cheerleaders report by 4:45 in uniform. It will start at 5:45, over by 7:15, and everyone gets a present from Upward. ... See you tonight!

Update: We are trying our best to still have an Upward season following guidelines from the Clay County Health Department. We are cancelling evaluations scheduled for next week, because we are unable to follow the current guidelines in place safely. We plan to have teams announced by the end of December, with practices starting the first week of January. Bear with us as we navigate through all of this-- we really want to make the season happen, and your patience is appreciated as we work through everything. We totally understand if you need to cancel and find other options. Please let us know if you have any questions!

We're off to a great start with registrations so far! Thanks for passing along the word about Upward. We are continuing to take registrations for K-8th grade basketball and K-6th grade cheerleading, and of course we'll need volunteers to make this happen as well. Kookie's Pizza is back for one last Saturday at Kearney First Baptist Church until 1! Come get some pizza and support the Upward program.

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Upward season this year. We appreciate everyone's patience and flexibility over the last couple of months as we tried to work through the details. We tried to hold out as long as possible to make it work, but with the likelihood that the current guidelines for Clay County will remain in place for the next several weeks, we did not want to keep dragging everyone along. We want you to know that th...is decision was extremely difficult to make as we wanted to give the kids something to look forward to. But after careful consideration of the current Clay County Health guidelines, CDC guidelines, current cases and the "what ifs" after the first of the year, we decided to error on the side of caution for the health and safety of all the kids, their families and volunteers. We sincerely apologize that we could not make the season happen this year and any inconvenience this might have caused. Upward will be back in 2021, and we hope you'll come back to join us then. Just a quick reminder that evaluations have been cancelled this week. We will be assigning teams without doing evaluations this year to stay within the Covid guidelines.

We hope you have enjoyed the basketball and cheer season! Today, we'd like you to fill out a survey card with your thoughts about Upward. You can return it today or Sunday at the celebration. We'll be doing a drawing out of all surveys turned in to win a free Upward registration for next year. You can turn in at the table by the door, at the concession stand, or to any of the coaches or directors

Registration is still going on for basketball grades K-8, and cheerleading for K-6. We're excited to get started! Practices will start last week of December with evaluations December 7 and 8.

Upward Basketball and Cheerleading registration is OPEN! We plan on having a season with Kindergarten-6th grade Basketball and Cheerleading, as well as a Co-Ed 7th-8th Basketball League. We are still working through Covid-19 protocols, but wanted to get started on registration. Practices will start late December, and games will run January-March.
