Attention local Contractors, Builders, and Developers Please join us tonight at the Dyer Park Community Building (601 W. Main Street) at 5:00 pm. We will have a brief informational meeting and plenty of time for question and answers as we partner with IBTS (Institute for Building Technology and Safety) to begin conducting our building inspection services. We are excited for a smooth transition and look forward to this partnership as Odessa continues to grow. #odmo #odessamo #onwardodessa #perfectlywellrounded

Happy New Year!!! Crews are beginning to pretreat roads and we will continue to monitor the winter weather being predicted for our area. Please stay safe and if roads become ice and snow packed, we’d prefer if you’d stay home, eat the dang black eyed peas, and let’s all tip toe quietly into 2021.
Heartland Waste will be picking up live Christmas trees for disposal over the next two weeks - December 28 through January 8. Remove all ornaments/stand and place the tree at the curb on your trash collection day. Also, please note that trash normally picked up this Friday, January 1, will be picked up on Saturday due to the holiday.
We want to wish everyone a safe and blessed holiday!
Get ready to join us live for the Downtown Christmas Lighting!
In response to the rise in cases in our community and surrounding areas, city facilities will be closed to the public. As we transitioned to a stronger approach of contactless service back in March, we were able to provide all services to our residents and customers during that time. We are once again re-directing our procedures in order to try and protect our most vulnerable population, keep our businesses open, support the school district's efforts, and keep our employees healthy. We are committed to the community and the continuity of our operations. Please visit our website at www.cityofodessamo.com for any additional information or feel free to give us a call at 816.230.5577. Please be safe and help us do our part in slowing the spread of COVID-19. #kindnessovercovid #odessastrong
The COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful and isolating for so many people. Gatherings during the upcoming holidays can be an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends. This holiday season, consider how your holiday plans can be modified to reduce the spread of the virus to keep your family, friends, and community healthy and safe. Let's make kindness more contagious than COVID-19.
Please note that the drop box behind City Hall has broken. If you wish to drop off your utility payment, please use the drop box in front of City Hall. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The Lafayette County Board of Trustees voted unanimously to reinstate a mask order for Lafayette County beginning tomorrow, November 19, at 12:01 am. This is in response to a large spike in cases that contributed to community spread and put a strain on our hospital system, both locally and across the metro. The order is very similar to the previous one issued back in August and may be read in its entirety here: http://www.lafayettecountyhealth.org/LCHD%20MASK%20ORDER%20 It i...s up to us as a community to do what we can to slow the spread of the virus and keep the city of Odessa strong. We all want our small businesses to remain open and thrive, especially during this holiday season which is the most critical time of year for them. We all want to support our school district and the efforts being made to provide the best education possible while keeping students and staff healthy. We all want to know that if we do get sick that hospitals will have adequate accommodations and staff to provide the care we need. Wearing a face covering in public and social distancing help to achieve these goals. It’s a simple act that can protect our community and the people and businesses we care about.
