We are excited to announce that beginning Monday, May 17, you will be able to log into your account on the parks software and either purchase a season pass or reserve a date for a pool party at the Oak Grove Aquatic Center! This is the first year we are able to offer this and hope it will be very convenient for you! We also hope that if there are any issues or problems that arise with the software, we can help you get them fixed right away by calling our office. If you want ...to purchase a season pass, please make sure to create your account with the adult as the main account person. Then the rest of your family will be added as other account members within your profile. Then upon your first visit to the aquatic center, each member on your family pass will need to take a photo that goes on their membership card that will get scanned each time you come to the pool this summer. If you want to reserve either a private or shared pool party, please remember that 50% of the total fee is due when you reserve the date. The other 50% is due the night of your event. Are you looking for a fun new experience for your kids? How about trying tennis camp? This camp will teach kids the fundamentals of the game, proper etiquette, and how much fun you can have playing tennis! Camp runs June 7 - 10 at the tennis courts in Webb Park. The cost is $15 per camper and kids will receive a t-shirt and sleeve of tennis balls. Ages 6-10 will meet from 8:30 - 9:30 am and ages 11-14 will meet from 9:30 - 11:00 am. All you have to do is create your account so you can fully enjoy signing up for classes online, reserve and pay for a shelter rental, reserve and pay for a pool party (not available year round yet), purchase a city fishing permit for Caraway Lake, reserve the Fieldhouse/Davis Center for a party, and so much more all from the convenience of your phone/computer! Just a quick note to say that city offices will be closed tomorrow (Friday) for New Year's Day. We will re-open on Monday at 8:00 am. Everyone, have a safe and happy New Years. The Oak Grove Parks and Recreation department is saddened to hear of the loss of our friend Randy Salyer. Randy faithfully served our community on the Park Board from 1997 2020. He was the Board President for many years and was instrumental in making things happen. From recognizing scout troops for their work in our parks (attached picture is Randy and a Girl Scout troop from a 2008 Park Board meeting), to helping new playgrounds get built, and to assisting in bringing the new aquatic center to Bent Oak Park, Randy was in the middle of it. He listened to all who approached him with ideas, loved Oak Grove, and wanted the best for all of its citizens. We will do our best to honor Randy and keep his vision going. We will miss seeing our friend and our prayers are with his family.
