Since 1988, almost every ND student that has passed through these halls has been taught by the Mrs. Mary Godefroid. Today we celebrated Mary and her dedication to Notre Dame as she will be retiring from teaching at the end of this school year. We want to express our sincerest gratitude for everything she has done for our school, and the many young women she has made a profound impact on. Thank you and happy retirement, Mrs. Godefroid! We presented her with a "confetti of cards" from past and current students that she is eager to read. Comment more of your well-wishes and thanks for Mary below!

Yesterday was the senior's last official day of class at Notre Dame. Those four years really do speed by, don't they? Thank you for your resilience and understanding this school year. Your positive leadership was tremendously appreciated. We are eager to celebrate all your accomplishments next week but will miss you too. Remember to enjoy these final moments together as a class they will go by so fast. Good luck on your final exams! #seniorspeedway #classof2021
Congratulations to Bayleigh Ramirez '22 who received the Sacraments of Initiation this morning! Family, friends and faculty members gathered in Notre Dame's chapel to welcome Bayleigh into the church. Our campus minister, Liz Miller, served as Bayleigh's sponsor; she has been a wonderful guide for Bayleigh during this process. Bayleigh said that the ND community her fellow students and teachers being witnesses to their faith was a major part of her decision to enter the Catholic Church. Truly a special celebration!
On Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave women and men who made the ultimate sacrifice. We are thankful for their courage and service always.
Today was the first of several end-of-the-year events that will celebrate the Class of 2021! The seniors were officially welcomed into Notre Dame's alumnae community during our Alumnae Induction ceremony. Current senior moms who are also alumnae of ND pinned in the newest ever loyal members. Congratulations, seniors...and remember you can always come home to dear old Notre Dame! #NDalumnae

Today is International #WomenInScience Day! Since 2015, February 11th has been promoted by the @unitednations as a day to recognize the critical role women and girls play in science. Notre Dame's science and technology curriculum supports equal access and participation so that our students can confidently explore #STEM-related fields during and after their time here.
The Annual Catholic Appeal invites high school juniors to participate in an essay scholarship contest each year. Congratulations to students Lucy Graves, Lani Nilges and Emma Schrick who were the scholarship recipients for ND! Their essays addressed why it is important to participate in the appeal, how they practice stewardship in their life and how people in the archdiocese are impacted by the ACA. Way to go, ladies!
Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, ND will not be able to welcome the classes celebrating a reunion this year back on campus for our traditional festivities. Last week, our students celebrated #CatholicSchoolsWeek by collecting various items needed by ThriVe St. Louis an organization that provides women with healthcare and pregnancy resources. Thank you @ndstuco__ and @ndhs_campus_ministry for setting up a successful donation drive. ND filled the mobile healthcare van with new mother and baby items plus collected an additional $2,300! While here, several students were able to tour ThriVe’s van and learn more about how they support women and life. #cws #compassionate #mission
As a sponsored SSND ministry, Notre Dame empowers young women to stand for justice and make a difference so all people may realize a world of peace, justice and love. #HumanRightsDay #Repost @ssndsisters On December 10, 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.... "The UDHR is a milestone document that proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status." From our SSND constitution: "In accord with church teaching and directives, we work actively, especially in our local situations, to eliminate the root causes of injustice in order to realize a world of peace, justice, and love. To confront injustice credibly requires that we ourselves act justly. We strive to live simply, to value human labor rightly, and to respect the dignity of every person, witnessing that living these values is a possibility for humanity." (C17)
A Peacemaker’s Prayer... O Creative Spirit of God, Come, awaken our spirits To the call to be ARTISANS OF PEACE!... Let us dream again! Let us hope again! Repost from the School Sisters of Notre Dame . . . https://atlanticmidwest.org//statement-january-6-attack-us
Today we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, Notre Dame, who found favor with God and was conceived without sin. As a sponsored ministry of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we are especially honored to be connected to a congregation that is committed to Mary as our mother and models accepting God into our lives. Mary be with us as we say your prayer, The Magnificat: . . . My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;... my spirit rejoices in God my savior. For He has looked upon His lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. He has mercy on those who fear Him in every generation. He has shown the strength of His arm and has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty. He has come to the help of His servant Israel for He remembered His promise of mercy, the promise He made to our fathers, to Abraham and His children forever. See more

It is hard to make sense of the difficult times we are witnessing in our country. As a sponsored ministry of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we remain loyal to our mission by empowering our students to peacefully transform the world around them and to be socially-just leaders. As a Catholic institution, Notre Dame High School prays that God's love and grace will guide us through these moments, heal us, and bring us peace.
