Clinical Question of the Week: You are dispatched to the home of a 54-year-old male who is demolishing a house he is flipping. He just finished trying to clean ...out the attic and started not feeling right. He came down and realized he was becoming short of breath so he called 9-1-1. He has Type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol, and no allergies to medications. Which of the following conditions should be high on your differential list and why? (Refer to video). A. Heart attack B. Dehydration and exhaustion C. Carbon monoxide poisoning D. Allergen-induced bronchospasm See more
Remember to appreciate your 911 telecommunications team. Thank you
2021 telecommunicators week starts Sunday! Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community, are hon...ored. This week-long event is a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. It is a week that should be set aside so everyone can be made aware of their hard work and dedication. https://www.npstw.org/ See more

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Casey Butcher. Casey dedicated his life to helping others, working in the field of EMS and with th...e Tri-City Fire Department. Casey was a paramedic with METS until a short time ago, and with Carthage EMS / Mercy prior to that time. Thank you Casey for the service you provided to the community. You touched countless lives. You will be greatly missed. See more

Emergency responders bear witness to the worst of tragedies and circumstances, while keeping themselves collected in the moment to help others. They grind it out in the streets shift after shift. Don’t be too proud, and watch for warning signs in fellow responders. https://youtu.be/QiuSX10oMiE

Waterways are quickly rising. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Your vehicle will be overcome by water. Stay safe and turn around, don’t drown.
Summer is heating up and hydration is important while at work and play. Drink lots of water and take frequent breaks from the heat and sun. Take a look at this article from the CDC and seek medical attention if needed. https://www.cdc.gov//min/UserFiles/works/pdfs/2017-126.pdf
