No Elf on the shelf...but we have a Bernie in mitten on a shelf. This is the second one I printed and is much better than the first one. Still have a little more cleaning to do. This one took just under 5 hours is and about 3 inches tall. 3D Solutech Real Blue PLA.

I am still learning to turn pens myself, but at a recent craft fair my grandson Braxton saw some turned pens and stated he wanted one of them. I told him we could make one at the house and he said he wanted to do it. Well, here is Braxton who 8 years old and his brother Zach who is 11 turning their first pens. We have smaller masks and other safety gear on the way. The shop was only about 40 degrees inside, We moved to a new place and now I need to install insulation and heat... in the new shop. It turns out Zach LOVED turning the pens. He even tried to make the top of his second pen close to the top of his first pen so people would know he made it. In all three pens the boys did about 97% of the work, I pressed in the mechanisms but the boys did the rest. Very proud of them and very happy that one of them is already talking about making pens to sell. The pens are the basic Slimline Kits one in 24kt Gold and the other two in Black. Not sure what the wood is. Two set were with the kits and the third one was from bag of 20 blanks. They were sanded and then polished Johnson Car Wax. Looks like I need to step up my game and learn more to pass it on. See more

Ender 5 Plus : Cura 4.7 : 3D Solutech Real White PLA at 200 / 50. The first lithophane is a the wedding picture of my wife and I. Sitting on a roll of tape with a push button style LED light in the middle of the roll. Guess I need to get out in the shop and build lightbox to take pictures with.... Have been 3D printing a lot more pictures to come soon.

Here we have the alien from Toy Story. I forgot to put something in for scale, but they are about 3 inches tall not counting the antenna. White one from Ender 5 Plus using provided software and PLA. No tweaks to software and no upgrades to printer. Second thing printed on printer after setting it up. Blue one is from my EcubWare printer using provided software with no tweaks and nothing done to printer. The PLA is from 3D Solutech. Ender completed this in 3 hours and 18 minut...es. Ecubwre completed in 5 hours 20 minutes. Both printed with rafts. I have been happy with the Solutech PLA (Amazon) on the EcubWare printer. I will see how it does on Ender 5 Plus. Pictures are not the best, but there is a small amount of banding here and there on both of them. But on the Blue one you can see and feel with your fingernail the different layers. Not so much with the White one (as I was expecting). Overall happy with this print and the one earlier today. I will now button down the wiring (wanted to watch how and where it moved). Print something larger to see how level the bed really is. To get the initial level of the bed I used a piece of card stock and adjusted the four knobs until the bottom of the bed grabbed the card stock. Basically what you do for the nozzle. Seems to have worked pretty good. I printed on different parts of the bed for the two test prints. For those having issues printing right out of the box, sorry to hear that but this unit worked flawlessly the first time out. See more
