This is the new normal for those that buy their own health insurance: narrow providor networks (EPO), geographically limited, and NO out of network benefits. For example: if you buy a plan in Kansas City, with an EPO network, and travel to Chicago you have NO coverage in Chicago! In Kansas City, MO for 2018, ALL of the plans offered have an EPO network and offer NO benefits outside of the KC metro. Solution: find a health insurance broker that can give you guidance. Buyer beware!

I listened to all 12 minutes of Blunt's speech. I am an experienced health insurance agent and he presented 100% factual information. And, I agree. Obamacare has to go and replace it with a plan that is more affordable and offers more consumer choices. In Platte County, we now only have 2 carriers and 12 plans from which to choose. This is down from 4 carriers and 50+ plans in 2016. I have over 250 Clay and Platte County residents with a health insurance policy. They ALL are paying too much and most plans have a very narrow network of medical providers.
