Monroe City Fire Protection District

Today the FISHING FOR FREEDOM will be coming through town. They are supposed to leave the 107 boat ramp around 1pm. There will be about 90 boats with veterans in each one so let’s show them that we still remember all that they have done for our country to be free. Bring your American flags or military branch flags and let’s line Main Street up and show them that they are awesome. Let’s show our support. Thank you.

Happy Memorial Day to all of our veterans that served us before and those who serve us now. Alive and Dead we will never forget what you have done and what you do each day for us to be free. God Bless America.

Just to advise everyone Ron Gamble from the monroe city Manor along with Fire Chief Enochs set up a Emergency Evaluation Drill for the Monroe City Manor tonight around 7:10pm. Be advised that no one was informed of this evacuation drill. Fire.Police 911 and Ambulance had no idea this was a drill. Monroe city manor is mandated by the state to have this drill once a year. It is a great way to see how the staff works and the reaction from all emergency agencies. When we do this drill we set off the alarm and it is timed on how long it takes for the fire pagers to be set off and all other emergency personnel. We work very hard to make sure that if something was to ever happen that we will be prepared for this. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Chief Enochs

Just a reminder that burn month is now over. Burn months are April, October, and November for leaves and yard debris. Thank you. You can still have fire pits and have a small fire in those but you are not allowed to burn leaves in your pit except for the months above. Thank you. Chief Enochs

The monroe city fire protection district. Monroe city police department. Monroe city ambulance and monroe county sheriffs department and Survival 3 helicopter will be putting on a mock exercise at the old football field at the monroe city high school. This mock will be as real as we can do it for the students of monroe city school. If you see lights and hear sirens around 2 pm on Wednesday April 18 know that it is not a real incident. We do this for an education exercise for the students. Thank you. Chief Enochs
