Safety Reminder: We once again ask that motorists please pay attention while driving. This comes after one of our TMA (buffer truck) operators was struck Tuesday (5/11) morning near NB I-35 and Broadway in downtown KC. The driver admitted they were not paying attention when they hit the truck despite MoDOT having message boards and signs in place. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. Again, the lives of our crews depend on you.

Safety Reminder: With road construction and repairs in full swing, please remember to be on the lookout for "mobile work zones". Those are crews working on a section of roadway for just a few, short minutes and moving on to another location. You'll see their flashing lights as you approach them. Slow down and move over. Be safe.

As you can see from the photos, the hit was pretty significant. The silver cannister pictured is the fuel tank from the semi. We've been told that there are no serious injuries, thankfully. No word on the cause of the strike, but this serves as a good reminder to please pay attention while driving. Focus on the road. Be safe. Be smart.
