I thought I had already posted the following information, but it hasn't shown up on this site. So here it is again: The 64th Missouri Round Dance Association Show-Me Festival, September 25-27, with Randy & Marie Preskitt, WILL be held as scheduled. An email with a letter from the Board should have already arrived to those who registered within the past three years, with information about dancing at the Capital Ritz and efforts to keep the hall sanitized. ... You can go to the MRDA website [http://missourirda.com/] to download the flyer to register for the event. We hope to see our dancing friends on September 25!

We would like to hear from anyone out there who is a "friend" of the MRDA and has been round dancing recently in a group, like classes or dances. If so, how are you managing it? What is your venue? What are the "rules" you dance by? We would really like to know!

It is with heavy hearts that we belatedly announce the death of former Secretary of MRDA Pat Schrant. Our condolences go to Michael Schrant, her husband and dance partner. Her obituary is below.

From Tom Feneis, MRDA President, concerning our recent MRDA festival: ----------------------- "20 couples in attendance, 7 for the first time. (19 couples last year) People continue to praise the facility and seemed pleased with Tom Hicks. Linda Robinson did a good job as his demonstration partner. No one wore masks inside the venue, nor did I hear any comments about it, one way or the other. Everyone did a good job of observing the tent cards to ‘mark’ chairs and maintained... their space. Dances were "Hotta Chocolatta Cha," "Let’s Smile," and "Mambo in Paris." All were very danceable and most couples seemed to have a good grasp of them. I was pleased that Tom said the purpose of these weekends is not to perfect a dance, but to expose people to new dances that they can then take home and work on with their local teachers and coaches to polish them up. I’ve heard that before, but also know that many couples ‘beat themselves up’ if they can’t do a dance perfectly before leaving." ---------------------------------- This is all good news! Three of the new couples were from California, following Tom Hicks, I suppose. In retrospect, we are very pleased with the results and pray that all will stay well.
