Event Date: 12/24/19 We are so grateful once again to design for the annual Smith-Miller Christmas party. This year's theme was derived from the recent travels of the Smith girls. They adventured into India and some of the other South Asian countries like Sri Lanka Thailand and Singapore. We tried to replicate some of the opulence and richness of the Indian and Asian cultures encountered during those visits. From the more than 1,100 floral blooms that graced some of ...the tables and most notably, the square floral arch with various shades of the royal color purple to the erected Arabian turrets and an arch with a mural that provided a beautiful backdrop for photos and ambiance guests were wowed! The main table was dressed in rich satin that shined in exotic boldness with rose petals, glass globes containing tea lights and votives nestled amongst the petals. Holding court in the center of table was the sacred elephant wishing all good luck and prosperity (even though she had her trunk down at the moment...traditionally the trunk should be pointing upwards). As guests drifted to the back room, they entered a completely different atmosphere. Heavy and exotic became light, airy and sophisticated with white piping and draping enclosing the whole room...lined with fairy lights for a romantic feel. The Rajasthan patterned teal and white color scheme was mimicked both on the tables and wall. The feeling of walking up to see the Taj Mahal with the mural of it right in front of you was unreal. Good food, "Minute-to-Win-It" games and the gem-in-the-crown...dressing up in the various saris they collected on their travels!! All of the women had such a blast being wrapped in luxuriously embroidered saris and accessorized in traditional looking jewelry to complete the looks. Everyone felt just a bit regal in the stunning, authentic Indian dress. Huge thank you to all who came and helped us revisit one our most enjoyable international moments.
