If your farm had certain expenses in 2021, then you may need to file 1099s with the IRS. In this University of Missouri Extension Farm Management Minute, field specialist Mary Sobba explains why you may need to file a form 1099-NEC or form 1099-MISC and when these forms are due to the IRS. Find more about the Farm Management Minute series at https://extension.missouri.edu//agr/farm-management-minute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUcJ8mcuVKg... #2xAg2030 #AgBusinessMU #ExtendMU
In the early 1970s, the rock band, ZZ Top struggled to gain national prominence. So they gave up and decided to become famous in Texas. They created the "Worldwide Texas Tour" and toured Texas towns with cattle, snakes, and a bull. It didn't take long for everyone in Texas to know and love ZZ Top. What happened next? Fifty million records were sold across America. Maybe you should think more about being successful in your community or your neighborhood. Success starts locally. The rest will take care of itself. #engagedneighbor #ExtendMU #BusComEx

Your home is your largest investment. As a result, most homeowners invest time and money in maintaining their investment and improving it from time to time. That often means flowers, and nice yards, etc. Making that time investment always causes people to become protective of their home. So what happens when you look at your security camera (purchased to protect your home) and you see a boy riding his bike on your driveway. What would your response be? Remember we are trying to be nicer, kinder, more involved neighbors. When this man found himself in that situation, check out his response: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzkMfmu6_UA #engagedneighbor #ExtendMU #BusComEx
Farm tenants may see an increase in land rental rates in the next year due to higher land values and crop prices. Use results from the University of Missouri Extension (MU Extension) rental rates survey to track cash rental rate changes from 2020 to 2021 for Missouri cropland, pastureland, grain bins and fee-based hunting. Access survey results at https://extension.missouri.edu/publications/g427. #ExtendMU #AgBusinessMU #2XAg2030 MU Extension - Agriculture and Environment Program

Turkey Tacos This recipe packs a protein punch as it includes both ground turkey and beans. Want to skip the meat? No problem. Just add in another can of beans of your choosing. Beans are an excellent source of protein and can also serve as a great meat alternative in many recipes. Top these tacos with any combination of veggies, hot sauce, salsa, low-fat sour cream or low-fat plain yogurt to make it a complete meal. Get the recipe at: http://cookingmatters.org/recipes/turkey...-tacos. #Committed2MOFamilies #ExtendMU

Protein is an essential macronutrient that's made up of 20 different amino acids. It's not only found in muscle tissue, but also in hair, skin, nails and nearly every bodily tissue. So, How Much Protein Do I Really Need? The National Academy of Medicine recommends that adults get a minimum of 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. (Example: For a 140-lb person, that's about 50 grams). This varies person-to-person based on age, gender, activity level and oth...er health factors. The acceptable range can be anywhere from 10-35% of your daily calories. Use the MyPlate Plan calculator to find the right amount of protein for you! We've been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but are some foods better than others? MU researcher Heather Leidy says yes. Watch video to learn more. #Committed2MOFamilies #ExtendMU
