Every year on May 25th I post a maternity photo. Why? I have no idea. But I'm keeping the tradition rolling with these two amazing people who braved the weather and completed their shoot in the fifteen minutes of no rain lol _____________... Bonus to shooting in non-favorable weather: a typically busy road is empty _____________

Until last Saturday, I had only balled my eyes out at one ceremony and that was in 2018. I’m just not much of a crier I guess. But I will tell you this: if you were in attendance at Courtney+Micheal’s ceremony, you became one as soon as the Father started reading little snippets of the letters he asked each of them to write to one another. Of course the tears were happy, meaningful and loving, but you would have been hard pressed to find a dry eye in the room! _________ Court...ney, Michael, Jack and Teddy (the MOST adorable Old English Sheepdog on the planet) had the best weather and were surrounded by loving family and friends all day long. My favorite thing about Courtney is how she’s forever smiling, she also asked me what I (emphasis) wanted most of the day when I asked her what SHE wanted! Like come on, a bride on her wedding day, asking ME what I want to do?! It doesn’t get much more laid back than that (except for maybe my bride that was photographed in the rain, it’s probably a tie LOL!)! And then there’s Michael. The exemplary example of a father and groom. Even though a wedding day is hectic and there’s something ALWAYS going on, Michael never lost sight of the fact that a wedding day is also supposed to be fun! He was attentive to both his bride and their kiddo all day while striking silly poses, tossing Jack in the air and making sure everyone felt welcome. _________ Dr. and Mrs. Hagerty, we can’t truly thank you enough for allowing us to be a part of your best day ever! I am SO thankful and grateful that the good Lord decided to give us such beautiful weather to celebrate so much love in this weekend! __________ Erin+Trey are so incredibly kind-hearted, caring and share the cutest love! They both made sure everyone felt included, have their own special moments and didn’t forget to have a little fun themselves! We basically toured Alton, IL starting at the AMAZING bridal suite built by WOW Furnishings, then headed to St. Mary’s for a beautifu...l ceremony, popped over to Riverview Park for some super fun photos then ended the evening at WOW’s banquet center where everyone enjoyed each other's company and helped congratulate the newest married couples! __________ Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn, thank you so much for allowing us to spend allll day with you both! WOO MAN! This weekend was a GORGEOUS whirlwind filled with love, happy tears, perfect details and spending the day celebrating two becoming one! ________ Jeanine+Landon are nothing short of perfection. Jeanine is the vision of beauty, grace and a little goofy mixed into one amazing woman. Landon was the model of what every groom should be and the kind of partner everyone should strive to be. Neither were afraid to feel every feeling and be engulfed in every little moment of t...heir day. While day FLEW by, we scheduled four (yes FOUR, talk about a photographer’s dream) times throughout the day to take portraits of just the two of them. I know, four sounds like a lot and like they’re taking pictures the entire time rather than greeting their guests. But what you may not understand is that our photo time is time THEY get to be TOGETHER, without being pulled in ten different directions, the pair can just breathe and be. While yes, a major part of a wedding is basking in the admiration of your guests/loved ones, what can sometimes get lost is that the day is truly about the union of the couple; all too often said couple gets zero alone time to process everything they’ve worked so hard to plan finally coming together. While Landon (and the amazing Alyssa with Silver Oaks Chateau) made sure Jeanine wanted for nothing all day, these two TRULY never lost sight of what everyone one was there for: the two of them! ________ Mr. and Mrs. Slone, it had been an absolute pleasure getting to know you both, helping you plan your perfect day then getting to celebrate it with you both! My sweet, angelic baby (niece) is a whole decade old today ______________ Where in the actual heck did the time go? ______________... McKenna Renée. I love you so much it makes my heart hurt. You were my first baby love. My first God child. The first kid to potentially make me want children of my own. The first kid to make me say, "I hope my kid is like her if I ever have one." You are the kindest, sweetest, most intelligent, beautiful and caring girl in the entire world. You bless everyone you meet with your polite manner and giving heart. I can't thank your parents enough for bringing you in to this world and sharing you.
