BOARD SUMMARY SPECIAL OPEN AND CLOSED SESSIONS DECEMBER 2, 2020 OPEN SESSION Amy Wilkerson, President, called the Special Open Meeting of the Marshfield Board o...f Education to order at 7:31 pm, on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the High School Library. Members present: Kim Atkison, Mitch Espy, Josh Hartman, Mark Messick, Damon Seiger, Patrick Theobald, and Amy Wilkerson. Amy Wilkerson led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Board recited the District Purpose Statement. Mitch Espy made the motion to approve the agenda as presented. Mark Messick seconded and carried with vote 7-0. Damon Seiger made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda: Approval of the SWMOCOG Resolution; approval of increase in sub pay for para positions to be equal to sub pay for teacher positions; Approval of policy I-140-A Program for Homeless, Migrant, At-Risk or in Foster Care; and Adoption of the Homeless Dispute Resolution Document. Josh Hartman seconded and carried with vote 7-0. Brad Erwin of Paragon Architecture led the Board in a Long Range Planning discussion. Mr. Henry and Dr. Lowder led the Board in discussion for development of the five-year C-SIP (Comprehensive School Improvement Plan). Kim Atkison made the motion to adjourn the Special Open Session and resume Closed Session at 9:18 pm. Mitch Espy seconded and carried with roll call vote 7-0 (Atkison, Espy, Hartman, Messick, Seiger, Theobald, Wilkerson). CLOSED SESSION Amy Wilkerson, President, called the Special Closed Session of the Marshfield Board of Education to order at 6:45 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the High School Library. Members present: Kim Atkison, Mitch Espy, Josh Hartman, Mark Messick, Damon Seiger, Patrick Theobald, and Amy Wilkerson. No action was taken during the session. Board Summary, 12/02/2020 pg 1 of 2 Patrick Theobald made the motion to adjourn Closed Session and proceed into Open Session at 7:24 pm. Kim Atkison seconded and carried with roll call vote 7-0. (Atkison, Espy, Hartman, Messick, Seiger, Theobald, Wilkerson). Closed Session resumed at 9:21 pm. Kim Atkison made the motion to hire Mr. Mike Henry as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2021. Contract is for a three year term, base pay $140,000 plus benefits package. Patrick Theobald seconded and carried unanimously (Atkison, Espy, Hartman, Messick, Seiger, Theobald, Wilkerson). Mark Messick made the motion to adjourn Closed Session at 10:04 pm.
