The JHS Boys Basketball games scheduled for tonight at NMCC have been postponed and re-scheduled for Monday, Feb. 22nd, beginning at 6:00 pm.

The Jackson R-2 School District will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 12th due to hazardous road conditions. Friday WILL be a virtual education day. Students and elementary parents, please check your email for further instructions about learning online from home. Instructions and assignments will be posted by 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Students and parents should check Canvas or Seesaw for further instructions. Friday is a RED day for secondary students. Also, please remember that school is closed on Monday, February 15th in honor of Presidents’ Day. Monday is a day off from learning. All buildings and District Offices will be closed on Monday for the holiday. #JR2Cares

Genevieve 46 Junior guard Jordyn McClellan scored 16 points including a huge three-point basket in the fourth quarter to help her Jackson Indians escape with a home win against a tough Ste. Genevieve squad Monday night 52-46.... The Dragons(1-2) trailed for much of the game, but a big final period led by Maci Reynold's nine points and a 20-12 fourth quarter brough Ste. Genevieve back. The Indians' Kate Emmendorfer and McClellan nailed some clutch free throws late to seal the win. Jackson(4-2) will head to the Show Me Center Sunday to take part in the first round of the First State Community Bank Holiday Tournament against Scott City at 4:30 p.m. Ste. The 2020 Class 5 District 1 Volleyball Champs - Jackson Lady Indians will play in a sectional game at St. Francis Borgia in Washington, MO at 12:30 pm tomorrow, Saturday, October 31st. * Admission is $7 for anyone 6 and up. * Doors open at 11:30 am. * Masks will be required to be worn the entire time while in the gym.... * There will be a designated area for our fans to sit together. * Games will be live streamed on the Borgia Athletics Facebook Page - Search Borgia Athletics on FB and like the page. The 2nd sectional game will be played at 2:30pm between Cor Jesu Academy and Oakville. The winner of our game and the 2nd sectional game will play at 4:30pm @ Borgia in a Quarterfinal game. The winner of the Quarterfinal game will advance to the Final Four on Nov. 5th and 6th at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau. #JR2Proud

Hope 4 Christmas 2020 Jackson R-2’s Hope 4 Christmas event served over 360 students and families with gifts, groceries for the month, stocking stuffers, toiletry items and a hot meal. This event was made possible by our generous community, teachers, clubs and organizations and churches in the area. Thank you to all who gave hope to our students in need! #JR2Proud

Today was Power Pack assembly day where we work very hard to prepare weekend meals and daily snack packs for over 200 students in need. The meals are delivered to students tomorrow. We had a special visit from the staff at Cure Dental today. More details to come tomorrow as they share a special announcement. Thank you to all of those who help provide food to those who need it. The JHS French Club held a Halloween Bonfire on Friday, October 20th at Mac’s Mission, a local, donation-based animal rescue that specializes in special needs animals. The students played with the puppies, roasted marshmallows, and told spooky French stories. In appreciation to Mac the Pitbull and his pack for hosting this event, Ms. Riggs, the French Club advisor, gave a donation from the club to help the dozens of rescue animals the organization receives each month.

The JHS Spanish Club bought bilingual books for English learners in our District. The club members delivered them to East and South students today. #JR2Proud
