The year ahead is filled with unlimited possibilities. With you by our side, we can accomplish anything for people with disabilities. Let's do thistogether.
Who’s ready to say goodbye to 2020?! What a year it’s been. We’ve all been put to the test and faced daily struggles. But as a result, our bonds with our individuals with disabilities, our staff, and our communities are stronger. We can’t wait to see what we do together next year (hopefully including lots of in-person celebrations). Wishing you all a safe and happy #NewYearsEve!
Did you know the CARES Act will allow you to deduct donations to charity of up to $300 on your 2020 federal tax return, even if you don't itemize? You still have time to make a year-end, tax-deductible gift that will change someone’s life. Our Employee Assistance Fund helps health care workers going through especially tough times and life-altering events. Your generosity means more than ever this year. Give the gift of kindness at https://www.lifeunlimitedinc.org/dspsupport.... (Consult a tax professional or go to https://bit.ly/38mcrzB for more information.)
In a year that has required us to be physically distant, your continued support is the gift that keeps us going. We wish you peace, joy, and happiness today and can’t wait until we can come back together.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go!
The #holidays this year will be tough as we keep a distance to stay #safe. We made the difficult decision last month to suspend visits until #COVID19 positivity rates are more contained. We were heartened, though, by the mother of an individual we serve who had this to say: . . ... . , . , . We hope you all find #peace this season and can rest assured knowing the people we serve are safe and in great hands. We love them all dearly and hope seeing the festive #celebrations and #fun happening in our homes brings a smile to your face. #happyholidays #togetherwhileapart #thankyou #disability #family #community

A day full of manicures and Santa crafts we hope your birthday was as fun as it looks! Happy Birthday!
Ever wondered what 80,000 masks look like?! This incredible donation was courtesy of Ford Motor Company through the Mid-America Regional Council. We are SO grateful to have such an amazing community in Kansas City; one that continually steps up to help frontline workers and individuals with disabilities. THANK YOU!
We recently received boxes and boxes of medical gowns from Missouri stock supplies. Thank you to Dan Manley for personally delivering them and for our community and staff who continue to ensure the safety of individuals served by Life Unlimited.
#GivingTuesday is your chance to make a difference, answer a prayer, and put a smile on someone's face. In a year with challenges at every turn, we could use your help even more. Our staff has been working around the clock to keep people with disabilities safe. Give them the gift of kindness: https://www.lifeunlimitedinc.org/dspsupport.
With so much going on in the world, you may be feeling stress or burnout. Here are some tips to help: http://ow.ly/xPvu50C99bH
A quick reminder that tomorrow is #GivingTuesday. This year, our annual fund will go directly to frontline workers who support people with #diabilities. Please give if you can at https://www.lifeunlimitedinc.org/dspsupport.
#Votetoday because the outcomes matter. Your rights matter. 61 million Americans with #disabilities matter. And you, your family, and your loved ones matter. . . . #voting #vote #election #elections #politics #democracy #votingmatters #votingrights #civilrights #disabilityrights #electionday #govote #voterregistration #votebymail #government #votingday #america #makeadifference
What a great story. We know firsthand that nurses and frontline workers save lives every day, and whether or not she wants to accept the title, Cassandra is definitely a hero. https://www.kshb.com//local-nurse-saves-children-with-disa
Wishing you all a safe, happy, and SPKY Halloween!
Celebrating the season with a virtual dance party and costume contest this afternoon! #HappyHalloween #MonsterMash
The Halloween fun has begun! These ladies are excited to celebrate. #trickortreat
Today is #NationalChocolateDay! (Along with every other day, right?) We're working on a chocolate cake. What's everyone else mixin' up?
Important information to share with only ONE WEEK LEFT to vote!
Snow today may feel like a trick, but the best part of Halloween is always the TREATS!
11 days left to cast your ballot! Read about why voting is an important way to champion disability rights, programs, and services. "With 1 in 4 people in the United States having a disability, politicians should be looking to this population to help determine what a future America looks like, including bringing them into conversations about how a post-COVID-19 society should function."
In addition to our vaccinations for individuals we serve, we also hosted two on-site flu shot clinics for staff this week. Staff drove through Liberty Manor and received Life Unlimited gear and family-style meals from The Garment House as thanks for participating and continuing to be steadfast in this challenging year. Thanks to all who helped make this possible! Getting the flu vaccine is more important than ever. Utilize local resources to get your flu shot if you haven’t already: https://www.kcmo.gov/city-hall/departments//get-my-flu-shot.
Last week we held an on-site flu shot clinic at Liberty Manor. Thanks to Melissa from Heartland Pharmacy and her son, Quinn, who is a pharmacy technician, for administering vaccines to 93 individuals we serve! This year has proven how important vaccines are to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe and healthy. We are so grateful to Facilities and Maintenance Director Ryan Hicks and the maintenance team, as well as Director of Nursing Christy Schnieders for making this happen.
This is amazing! And perfect to share during National Disability Employment Awareness Month. We can't wait to try it out and meet the employees at The Golden Scoop in January. https://www.kshb.com//the-golden-scoop-ice-cream-shop-will #NDEAM #disabilities #disabilityemployment #inclusion #inclusive #diversity #diverseworkforce #KC #KCProud
