Dispatchers are an integral part of the 9-1-1 system they are who the public turns to during some of their most distressing times. Dispatchers are the bridge between the public and emergency services; while they often fly under the radar, it is the dispatch community who deal some of the toughest phone calls and situations. There is a lot resting on the shoulders of dispatchers. 9-1-1 dispatchers work in highly demanding environments, and constantly have to be on high alert.... But the work they do is invaluable! Dispatchers make a difference within their community and have a significant impact on those they help. Hardly ever recognized for the amazing work they do, they are the secret heroes behind the scenes. Thank you all for what you do! We at KFD appreciate all your hard work. Happy Telecommunicators Week

Everyone knows that Autumn temps mean recreational fires. Be aware that dry fuels, such as leaves, twigs, and mulch can lead to a much larger fire than anticipated. Especially this afternoon and tomorrow (Saturday). Make sure to stay within the city ordinances (see comments for link). We hope you enjoy the fall temperatures and remember to stay safe!
