Checking out this old girl on Nebraska near Meramec. Two interesting things to note. She had been doll-housed, with her rear wall removed. Also, has an alley house, which was likely built first nestled in the back yard. That was from another time in the Lou when we had 800,000 people living in the city. What a bustling place it must have been! Trying to convince our client to restore them both.

Today we visited the recently completed construction of a new single-family residence in the historic Soulard District. KSA collaborated with Randy Middeke of City Lights Design + Build to create this design to fit within the historic context of the neighborhood. The home is a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath with an open first floor layout.

Another exciting collaboration with the Harrick Group and Lodging Hospitality Management wrapped up earlier this year! We always enjoy working with this team to refresh and modernize existing hotels in St. Louis. These spaces are often visitor’s first (and sometimes only) impression of the area, and we are always proud to be a part of their makeovers. If you need to recommend or book a hotel near the airport, put the Crowne Plaza on your list!

In February we posted photos of a few micro-unit apartments that we were using as inspiration for a client. Fast forward 9 months, and framing is almost complete! Trusses were set this week, and we’re working with the folks in the field to fine-tune window sizes and locations. Until it’s time for a final photoshoot, you can see what we are excited about with these 3D images. The two-story alley building will comfortably secure two cars and the yard from the alley. The garage is getting power for two electric vehicles, and the brick veneer at all facades will create a cozy courtyard ambiance in the backyard. Above the garage is a 480 SF apartment for out-of-town family and friends, which we can’t wait to see. #cityliving #historicneighborhoods #lafayettesquare

Found this pre WWII floor tile installation at a house north of Forest Park today. Potential buyer will likely cover it up with wood floor for future generations to discover.

There is so much more of this CWE home to share, but you’ll have to wait. For now, we can all admire these photos our clients sent of their new Officine Gullo cooking suite. Maybe quarantine-cooking isn’t so bad when you have one of these in your home

We looked at this mixed use building in Lafayette Square recently for a potential client. So cool when the original features are still inside these old timers.

Annie and I got to visit the Pappas house a few weeks ago. This is the Frank Lloyd House in West County. Thank you to our hosts and the Pappas family. If you ever get a chance to go, don’t pass it up!
