***HSD to Launch Help Hazelwood Get Healthy Campaign*** The Help Hazelwood Get Healthy campaign will encourage everyone who lives and works in the Hazelwood Sch...ool District area to wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash their hands. Consistently practicing those habits will help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and help HSD return to face-to-face learning. The campaign will include a variety of elements, including public service announcement videos. This video features some of our amazing high school students. ***Hazelwood School District COVID-19 Update*** On Tuesday, October 20, the Board of Education voted for all students to continue attending school 100% virtuall...y through the end of the first semester (January 8, 2021). The COVID-19 metrics in the primary zip codes Hazelwood School District serves will continue to play a major role in the Board’s decisions. The Board also approved in-person testing for special education services and some additional assessments for specialized programming. Finally, the Board approved a slow reemergence of in-person high school athletics/activities. A more detailed update about in-person high school athletics/activities will be shared as soon as possible.

Mark your calendars! HSD has partnered with Christian Hospital to host a drive-thru flu shot event on Thursday, October 15 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hazel...wood Central High School. A total of 200 flu shots will be available on a first come first serve basis. Children over the age of 3 and adults are welcome. The event is open to all HSD families. Reminder: The days and hours for Chromebook swaps/repairs at the Hazelwood Opportunity Center are Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Chromebooks are onl...y for students in grades K 12, and hot spots are only for families who do not have internet access. Pre-K students will receive Chromebooks at a later date. Our staff members are working hard to repair Chromebooks so we have a new supply each day the Opportunity Center is open. Due to the limited supply of Chromebooks available each day, devices will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Dear Hazelwood School District Families, Our primary goal is to create and maintain a safe and supportive environment free of distraction for all students. As w...e navigate this new virtual school environment, we need teachers, students, and parents to work together to achieve our goal. With that in mind, we are asking all parents to have a conversation with their children about appropriate behavior in virtual classrooms. Creating fake accounts, sharing inappropriate messages, and other classroom distractions will not be tolerated. Additionally, students should never share their login information or classroom access codes with anyone. Failing to follow the aforementioned behavior expectations can result in serious investigations that include the HSD Security Department, Technology Department, and law enforcement. Our leadership team will continue to explore any and all avenues to limit classroom distractions. The Boys & Girls Club After School Program is now being offered virtually! The program is Monday-Friday, 2:30-7PM. They offer homework/tutoring assistance as well as social/emotional support and fun activities, like cooking, TikTok challenges, and scavenger hunts.
