Rising Church

As we watch our country in pain this week, we join hands with the family and loved ones of George Floyd in mourning. We acknowledge the pain, anger, and frustration of the treatment towards the black community by the law enforcement of our nation. We stand along side those who have been effected by racial prejudice in our country. However, there IS an appropriate response to what has happened. We do not support the outright destruction and chaos of those who are enraged. Pe...ace comes, not when justice comes, but when we choose peace. We will stand with those in the pursuit of justice and the end of racism in our country. We will NOT stand with those who choose violent acts of selfishness and foolishness to send a message. Stand up for and reach out to the weary without relent. But keep your wits about you and practice self-control. That is how your message WILL be heard. It starts on an individual level. You have to choose peace, love, harmony. You have to choose to take a second and think that maybe I don’t completely understand my neighbor. You have to choose to love them regardless of what they look like. We DO have a choice. Rising Church continues to pray for peace, justice, and the end of racism. We pray for those in morning. We pray for the rebuilding of not only our cities but of our hearts and minds as we move forward.
