With deepest regret The Turkey Talker Committee has announced that due to Covid-19 the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will have to be cancelled. We apologize to all those who count on us every year that we will not be able to carry on this tradition.

The Henry County Turkey Talkers have been informed that the Clinton Eagles Lodge WILL NOT be hosting the set down dinner this year due to Covid-19 Concerns. The Henry County Turkey Talkers WILL be doing the delivered meals across Henry County. You can place your orders either by calling us at 660-885-6922 or via our email: [email protected]. Include your name, address and phone numbers along with the number of meals to be delivered on Thanksgiving Day.

Monday Update: Need 90 more Turkeys 224 more pies Volunteers to deliver, wrap rolls, cut pies, dishwashers and servers.

Needed 100 Baked Turkey's for Community Thanksgiving Dinner. If you can purchase and bake a 14-20lb turkey for the Henry County Community Thanksgiving Dinner please let us know. If you can purchase a turkey but can't bake it, let us know we have people who will bake them. Baked Turkeys need to be brought to the Clinton Senior Center on Wednesday November 25 by 3:00 p.m.. Bring in disposable pan, with the broth please! The Knights of Columbus of Holy Rosary Catholic Churc...h are our legendary Turkey Carvers so we need them there on time. Notice: The 31st Annual Henry County Community Thanksgiving Dinner is on schedule for 2020! The Turkey Talkers are working on getting everything lined up for the big event. In 2019 we served around 1,216, both the delivered meals and the dine in. 2020 is a bit more challenging than previous years, but we know our community will rise to the occasion as it has before. This year we are needing 100 Baked Turkeys, 250 Pies (Apple & Pumpkin), 1500 Rolls, and lots of VOLUNTEERS.... We know that our delivered meals will mostly likely be up this year due to the covid-19 so we will need more drivers. The Eagles Loge has voted to provide the set down dinner as in years past for those wishing to dine in. Full details will be forthcoming. We will begin taking Delivered Meal Reservations beginning on November 2nd by calling Turkey Central (Clinton Flower Shop) at 660-885-6921. Gobble, Gobble!!! Planning has begun for The Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner 2020! Details are still being worked out and some changes may be made to some aspects but the Henry County Turkey Talkers are determined to see the 31st Annual Henry County Community Thanksgiving Dinner will take place. Last year we served 1,216 meals. We will soon be asking for Volunteers to bake turkeys, pies, deliver meals, and all the activities associated with making the event a success. THANK YOU! To everyone who baked and donated Turkey's 90+; Pies 145+, and VOLUNTEERS! We are in the process of totaling up all the numbers for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner 2019. The rough numbers appear we surpassed last years numbers in every category. We served around 1,216 meals both delivered and at the dine in meal. We thank you all for your support and we pray God blesses each and everyone a hundred fold for your generosity and support. This marked the 30th y...ear for this dinner and was truly a labor of love. Special thanks to those who delivered the meals yesterday, the weather wasn't as we'd have liked but everyone took it in stride. I've received reports of hand made cards delivered by children with the meals....EXTRA SPECIAL! Tomorrow is the day! As of 8:00 Wednesday morning we have had 796 meals requested for delivery, you can still request a delivered meal until 5:30 tonight by calling 660-885-6921 for delivery anywhere in Henry County. If you want to join others on Thanksgiving Day you can share this Free Thanksgiving Dinner at the Eagles Club, 723 N 3rd St, Clinton, MO. on Thanksgiving Day for the set down dinner from Noon until 2:00 p.m.

Update: We have 82 of the 90 turkeys pledged; 170 of the 175 pies pledged; 30 delivery drivers; 3 of 4 dishwashers; 4 pie cutters for thanksgiving with 589 requested meals of of Sunday Night at 6:00 p.m. STILL PLENTY OF TIME to request delivered meals (take requests up till 5:30 p.m. Wednesday Night). Turkeys & Pies, volunteers we need right away to know what we need to do. THANKS TO A WONDERFUL, GIVING AND CARING COMMUNITY!

Update: Friday (Nov 22nd): We are only 20 Turkeys from our goal; 23 Pies, short of our goals. We are still in need of a few more delivery drivers and 1 dishwasher, 3 Pie Cutters/Roll Wrappers! So far we have 500 requested delivered meals, 2018 we delivered 849 meals. There is still plenty of time if you'd like to donate a turkey or pies, volunteer to lend a hand on Thanksgiving Day or request a Traditional Thanksgiving Meal on Thanksgiving Day. Update: Wednesday (Nov 20th) We currently are still needing 32 Turkeys; 30 Pies (Apple or Pumpkin); Delivery Drivers and 1 More Dishwasher for the Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Monday Morning Update: We have 49 of 90 Turkey's pledged, we have 127 of 175 Apple or Pumpkin Pies pledged as of this morning. If you are unable to cook a turkey but would like to donate a turkey, we have the ability get them baked. Volunteers: We have 16 of the 40 deliver drivers; we have 2 of the 4 Dishwashers needed and 3 of the 6 Pie Cutters. We always have room for volunteers, we will find a task for anyone who wants to help. Meal requests: 373 meals to be deliver...ed so far. We will be taking delivery requests through Wednesday, November 27th.
