KCMO’s East Village Neighborhood downtown was chosen as the study site for the Urban Land Institute’s Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition! Students will propose how to create a thriving, mixed-use, mixed-income neighborhood in the East Village. 110 teams from 62 universities in the US, Canada, & Singapore will compete. The competition asks students to consider issues of housing affordability, equity, transportation, mobility, sustainability, and resilience as they create a comprehensive design and development program for the site.
