Dear Friends, Because of extreme cold and icy conditions on Sunday morning, January 2nd, we will be canceling our morning services.... Hopefully, conditions will improve for our Commemoration Service for Paramahansa Yogananda's Birthday at 7 pm on Wednesday, January 5th. There is an additional hour of meditation from 8 to 9 pm. The All-Day Meditation for Yogananda’s Birthday will be on Saturday, January 8, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Masking is Back in Kansas City Earlier this week, the Centers for Disease Control updated their guidance for COVID management, advising that, in areas with a significant spread of COVID infections, even fully vaccinated people should wear masks. Soon thereafter, Kansas City’s mayor renewed the mask requirement for our city. Our services will continue as usual except that we will be wearing masks indoors, both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Extra masks will be available at the KCMG Chapel.

We will continue to follow CDC guidelines by making masks optional for those who have been vaccinated and asking those who have not been vaccinated to wear a mask.

Kansas City Meditation Group restarted regular Services on Sunday, June 6th. Early Meditation Service is from 9 am to 9:45 am. The main service, the Reading Service, is from 10 am to 11 am.... Masks are optional for meditators. Hand sanitizers and masks will be available for those who want them. We will observe social distancing in the chapel. The CDC has updated recommendations that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks or physically distance in either indoor or outdoor settings. They have indicated that the chances of a fully vaccinated person contracting COVID are very low and the chances of having a life-threatening case are negligible. They continue to recommend unvaccinated people wear masks, but at this point, you must make that decision, not KCMG. For those who feel comfortable with these guidelines, the chapel is now open. For those individuals with health issues or any other concerns, you are of course free not to attend until you feel comfortable in doing so.

Dear Friends, We are happy to share that in honor of our Guru Paramahansa Yogananda's 100th year anniversary of his arriving to America, the Self-Realization Fe...llowship Mother Center has installed commemorative banners on Sunset Blvd. in front of the SRF Hollywood Temple and the SRF Lake Shrine. We are including a few pictures of some of these beautiful banners that now adorn Sunset Blvd. in front and around the Hollywood Temple. Gurudev Paramahansa Yogananda arrived to America on Sunday September 19th, 1920 aboard the ship "The City of Sparta" after a two-month voyage that docked in Boston, Massachusetts. In the coming days we will be sharing short stories from the teachings of our Guru in his own words of the days leading up to his arrival to the US. As most of you know, our in-person Convocation, which had been scheduled for July 26 August 1, had to be canceled this year because of government restrictions on large public gatherings during the Covid-19 pandemic. Commemoration Service, March 7, 2020.

An Indian-style devotional procession of SRF monastics, led by SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda on January 5, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., inaugurated the Centennial of Paramahansa Yogananda’s coming to America and founding Self-Realization Fellowship to disseminate the teachings of Kriya Yoga worldwide.

The rescheduled Paramahansa Yogananda Commemorative Meditation will be held on Saturday, January 18th, from 10 am to 4 pm.
