The Payroll Protection Program PREP (PPP PREP)-Kansas City is a partnership effort with the City of Kansas City KC BizCare Office, the Prospect Business Association of Kansas City (PBA) and the Heartland Black Chamber of Commerce, service professionals and funders to provide PPP loan preparation services to Black and minority owned small businesses to get them ready for stimulus dollars. PPP PREP focuses on outreach to support the businesses who missed previous rounds of PPP loans. The DoorDash Local Restaurant Grants are back for a second round of applications! Small businesses in select cities across the United States and Canada are now eligible for funds to help offset the costs associated with running a restaurant amid the ongoing pandemic. Part of DoorDash’s Main Street Strong initiative, these grants can be used to cover operating costs, including rent, payroll, PPE, expanded outdoor dining capacity, and other expenses.

SBA is reopened the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) for First Draw Loans January 11, 2021. The First Draw PPP Loans can be used to help fund payroll costs, including benefits. Funds can also be used to pay for mortgage interest, rent, utilities, worker protection costs related to COVID-19, uninsured property damage costs caused by looting or vandalism during 2020, and certain supplier costs and expenses for operations. Existing PPP borrowers that did not receive loan forgiveness by December 27, 2020 may: (1) reapply for a First Draw PPP Loan if they previously returned some or all of their First Draw PPP Loan funds, or (2) under certain circumstances, request to modify their First Draw PPP Loan amount if they previously did not accept the full amount for which they are eligible. Beyoncé is empowering small business owners making lemonade out of dual pandemic lemons with $10,000 grants through the BeyGOOD Foundation. The goal is to provide a life line for small businesses at the epicenter of dual pandemics. BeyGood has teamed up with the NAACP to expand economic opportunity by awarding grants of $10,000 on the 15th of each month through the end of 2020.

The NAACP Powershift Entrepreneur Grant is Daymond John’s quest to find and award up and coming Black entrepreneurs. Black entrepreneurs across the country can apply now for the chance to win $25,000 each to help them grow and scale their businesses during a time they need it most. Winners of the grant will also receive mentorship from Shark Tank’s Daymond John and join him live on air during Black Entrepreneurs Day to showcase their businesses.
