As Women's History Month comes to an end, we want to highlight our very own Distiller Andi Russell - a badass woman excelling (and dancing) in a male-dominated world. "My degree is in chemical engineering. When I graduated from college, I wanted to be a brewmaster. That didn’t work out so I worked in the oil and gas industry for a little over a decade. When I found out about the JRC expansion, I reached out to Nathan Perry saying I was interested in pursuing something where... I could see actual tangible results more in line with my original career ideas. We both thought I was a good fit, and I started in June of 2019." "Coming from the still male-dominated engineering world (but that’s changing!), it wasn’t really different for me to be the only woman on a team. I like letting people see that a woman can still hold their own with the guys (even if I do need a step stool ). I’d love to see more women on the production side of the distilling industry! It’s a physical job. I go home tired and dirty almost every day, but I truly, truly love it."
