2021 T-Ball League - Deadline May 10 Our t-ball league is open to boys and girls ages 5/6 years old. Practices begin May 18, with games starting June 1. For more information, click the event page below!

LANDRETH PARK PLAYGROUND UPDATE Parks staff are in the process of installing the new inclusive playground. We are hopeful it will be completed within the next few weeks! (Weather permitting, of course!)

Did you catch the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile at Cunningham Park on Friday? If not, meat up with the iconic vehicle and say hi to its Hotdoggers (aka drivers) at Ewert Park tomorrow (Sunday) between 11:00am - 4:00pm!

Bundle up and join us this evening at Mercy Park for our mini Kids Christmas Parade and Movie in the Park! The mini parade kicks off at 5:30pm. Once everyone has made a loop around the Holiday Tree Trail, we're going to show "The Grinch" on our inflatable movie screen. The Top Hat will be on site with free hot cocoa and selling their amazing goodies! We'll also be popping popcorn for everyone to enjoy!

HOLIDAY LEGO CAMP Join us for a holiday-themed LEGO Camp! Activities include LEGO holiday games and competitions, open play, and making a LEGO inspired snack! For more information about the camp, click the event page below!

NEW! VIRTUAL LEGO CAMP We've partnered with Play-Well TEKnologies to offer a one-day virtual LEGO camp over Christmas break! Encounter practical real-world STEM concepts while learning from and connecting virtually with other young Minecraft enthusiasts! We invite kids ages 0-15 (and their parents) to decorate their bikes, wagons, scooters and strollers and ride in a parade around the trail at Mercy Park. Little Dribblers is a four week program where we introduce preschoolers (ages 3-4) to basketball. There are no practices, teams, or formal games. The kids play fun drills and skill games to introduce basic fundamentals. Our 2021 Little Dribblers Basketball starts January 5! Space is limited. 2020 Roll-n-Stroll Activity Challenge No matter how you roll or stroll, let's get moving! We've partnered with Mercy Hospital Joplin to host an activity challenge to close out 2020! The Roll-n-Stroll is a free inclusive activity challenge open to anyone who wants to join! ... To Participate: - Register with Joplin Parks & Recreation - Track at least 5 activities from now until December 31 - Return completed activity tracker to Joplin Parks and Recreation by January 8 Those who track 5 or more activities by December 31 and return their trackers on-time to the Parks and Recreation Department will receive a Roll-n-Stroll t-shirt!
