It is with a heavy heart and disappointment to share that we are canceling kid’s camp - all ages. Much consideration has gone into this decision. Although our kid’s team had many plans in place - we feel the wise thing to do is to cancel. I understand many areas are opening up following the COVID situation - however, here in the Carthage/ Joplin area, we have seen a significant rise in cases. Jasper County, MO: 178 confirmed cases... Crawford County, KS: 96 cases McDonald County, MO: 94 cases Cases rose significantly this week - from very little cases to where we are now. Decisions had to be made this week in order for communication, food orders, & immediate planning. I understand our kids would probably be safe - but we simply do not want to put any of their families in jeopardy if one were to contract the virus. With our camp’s location being in the immediate center of the hotspot - this is the best decision. If you have any questions, please feel free to call / email me. Let’s pray and plan for an even greater Camp next year. I appreciate all of you, Dustin Ledford, Joplin District SDMI chair

Hey friends, we are ramping up for Kids camp and we just want to send out a friendly reminder to ask all those who are planning on sending children and counselors to camp if you would please remember to fill out the online google form? It will help us to plan accordingly for camp. If possible, we would like that to be completed by June 17th. Also due to the unusual circumstances, we are asking everyone to consider if you could volunteer your time at kids camp as a sponsor/co...unselor. This is a great opportunity to be part of something bigger than all of us especially during these times. We believe kids need to know the peace and love of Christ more than ever and we would love to invite you to come alongside and show what the peace and love of Christ looks like to the children. If you are willing to give your time, then we ask that you follow the link to the "worker form" and complete it and return it to our district Kids director, Justin Couch by June 24th. You can complete and mail those forms to 1045 Fair Hill Drive, Neosho MO, 64850. Thanks again everyone! https://faithconnector.s3.amazonaws.com//worker_form_2020.

For the sake of planning accordingly for kids camp, we are asking that each church completes the online google form link that is provided with this post. This will help us to know how many children and sponsors to expect for camp. The google form should be completed by the individual in the local church who is responsible for children's ministry. We would ask that you complete this form by June 17th if possible. However it is completely acceptable to submit it more than once with any additional children or sponsors. Thanks again friends! https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLScQ2pRYlpgZ54Gd1w/viewform

*Note of price change for pre-teen camp* Due to the fact that paintball will not be available at pre-teen camp this summer, we have reduced the price from $135 to $110 for pre-teen camp. Also please make note that each church will only need to send one check to pay for both camps. If you have kids coming to both camps, you can wait until the second camp to provide payment. Or you have the option to bring the check at the beginning of the first camp. We are leaving that to the discretion of the church, we just ask that you communicate that to us at the time camp starts. Thanks again!

Hey friends, we would like to give you an update on the status of kids camp. We have decided to go ahead and move forward to have Kids camp in July. We have prayed continuously over this and have had many conversations about it and have come to the conclusion that even in times of uncertainty, our kids still need the opportunity to experience the love and faithfulness of Christ. Our district superintendent and other district leaders have shown their support for this decision.... We acknowledge that not everyone will feel comfortable with the idea of sending children to camp this summer and we support and understand that 100%. We simply want to give everyone the opportunity to make the best decision for themselves. For those who are coming to camp, please don't forget that we are asking you to complete a google form that can be found in the link with this post. We would like to ask you to complete that form no later than June 17th so that we can plan accordingly for camp. All other forms for campers and counselors can also be found in the link as well. We appreciate and love our district family! https://www.joplindistrictnaz.org/kids-camp

Hey friends, we have been delayed in posting any updates in regards to summer camps during the current pandemic but here is the latest on the status of summer camp. To date, we are still planning on holding summer camp this July at Camp Cyokamo, provided the campgrounds will be open for overnight stays. We have been in communication with Cyokamo and at this point, we know that only day camps will occur in June and no overnight camps. They have yet to determine whether or not... overnight camps will be allowed for July. We will probably not hear of a decision for a couple more weeks. In case we are not able to go to Camp Cyokamo, we have put together Plan B. We have been exploring and planning for the possibility of a virtual camp. This would essentially be a day camp that will be held at your local church. Details for a virtual camp (should it be needed) will be available by the beginning of June. Included in a link with this post, you will find the flyer and registration forms for camp (as normal) and also a link to a pre-registration google form that will assist us in planning for camp. The pre-registration form is strictly an estimation tool of how many children and counselors each church is planning on sending to camp. We are asking that each church please complete and submit that form as soon as possible and by June 17th at the latest. All other registration forms are not due until the start of camp. Over the course of the next several weeks, we will continue to provide instructions on the registration process and updates on our ability to hold camp as planned. We appreciate your patience during all of this and we ask for continued prayers as we seek God’s guidance for all of the decisions that are yet to be made. https://www.joplindistrictnaz.org/kids-camp

Has anyone borrowed the sno cone machine from Carthage Nazarene? We haven’t been able to find it for a couple weeks and are wondering what happened to it...

Attention Children’s workers, I think this would be a great training to take your people to. Trauma informed care is something we could all learn more about in each and every church...
