Recently Joe Morgan, owner of Joe’s Datacenter, was invited to join an advisory board for the Missouri State University’s Design Thinking course. In the first meeting, current curriculum was reviewed and ways to improve were discussed. The Design Thinking Certificate Program at MSU’s website refers to the program as focusing on innovative thinking as a means of designing products and services. Students participating will learn new ways to manage complexity, serve human needs, and create sustainable products benefiting both people and businesses alike.

Owner Joe Morgan was published in a Forbes article today regarding techniques for structuring a more productive workday. Here's what Joe had to say: "Because I run a data center, there's a lot of unexpected issues that tend to pop up throughout my days. That's why the last thing I do before leaving for the day is write out three priorities that I want to focus on the next day. When I come in each morning, I can then more easily focus on what needs to be done, saving me time and making my work more efficient. Another helpful tool that I use is my Google Calendar. There I can easily see my meetings for the day, but I can also see gaps of time between those appointments for me to focus on my goals for the day. "

Joe’s Datacenter Holds Virtual Session with Career Center Annually Joe Morgan, owner of Joe’s Datacenter, attends the Excelsior Springs Area Career Center’s mock job interviews. Due to COVID, this year the Center held virtual sessions with industry experts, letting them know what to look for and expect in the industry. Joe participated in both morning and afternoon sessions with students. Traditionally Joe would attend in person and help conduct job interviews that allow st...udents to practice their pitches to the field they’re interested in. In the past, Joe has also given tours of his datacenter space to career center classes. Having been a graduate of the Excelsior Springs Area Career Center’s programs, participation in giving back to the program is important. Joe has also participated by having internship opportunities and has hired directly from the Excelsior Springs Area Career Center. The Center serves adults and high school students in the pursuit of continuing, community and technical education. They also offer adult evening classes throughout the year, and community education classes seasonally from September through May.
