FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 24, 2021 9:00 a.m. Media Contact: Chris Newbrough, PIO/Emergency Planner... 573-581-1332 [email protected] TRAFFIC FLOW PLAN RELEASED FOR THURSDAY’S 2ND DOSE VACCINATION EVENT IN MEXICO (MEXICO) A traffic flow plan for the 2nd Dose Mass Vaccination Clinic tomorrow (Thursday) at the Mexico Area Family YMCA has been released. Those eligible to receive the second dose of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine are asked to show up at the Mexico YMCA at a prescribed time according to their last name. Please note that the wearing of masks and social distancing will be enforced at the vaccination site during the event. Participants are asked to enter Adams Street using Morris Street from either Boulevard Street or Lakeview Street. At the intersection of Adams and Fairground Street, attendees will be asked for their CDC card given to them at the first vaccine event at the Mexico Memorial Airport on January 29th, at the Audrain County Health Department (ACHD) the evening of January 29th or the February 2nd mini-clinic at Presser Arts Center in Mexico. When participants are allowed entry to the YMCA parking lot at their prescribed time, they will be given a consent form to fill out upon their arrival, if they do not have one already filled out. If any participants are in need of assistance with a wheelchair at the time of arrival and departure, please let the Missouri National Guardsman at the entrance gate know of your need upon your arrival to the site. Multiple golf cars will be provided to shuttle individuals from the parking lots to the entrance. Overflow parking lots for traffic will be at the Mexico Middle School and the First Presbyterian Church parking lots. A shuttle will be offered for participants to use from the First Presbyterian Church lot but only for those that have to park there because of the YMCA lot and the Mexico Middle School lot being full. Please do not show up several hours early for your appointment and expect to park there while waiting for your appointment time. You will not be allowed to do so. The lot will have a controlled entrance and exit manned by either Missouri National Guardsmen or Mexico Public Safety officers. . Adams Street will be restricted to westbound traffic only and Fairground Street south of Adams Street to Lakeview will be southbound only. Mexico Public Safety will have officers at the following intersections directing traffic: - Adams and Morris directing westbound traffic. - Fairgrounds and Lakeview directing southbound traffic. - The Mexico Area Family YMCA parking lot as needed. - The Mexico Middle School parking lot - The Presbyterian Church parking lot to assist with traffic flow out of the lot, if needed. If participants are asked to go to the Mexico Middle School overflow parking lot, they are asked to drive down Fairground to Lakeview and make a right onto Lakeview, driving down to Omar. Make a right onto Omar and drive back up to Boulevard. Make a right onto Boulevard down to Morris Street. Turn right onto Morris to gain entry to the Middle School parking lot. If they are asked to go to the Presbyterian parking lot, participants will drive south on Fairground to Lakeview and make a left turn onto Lakeview. They will then drive east on Lakeview to the Presbyterian Church parking lot and park there. Participants will only be allowed access to parking lots at their designated arrival time. - 8:00 a.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with A - 8:30 a.m. arrival Those with the last names beginning with B - 9:00 a.m. arrival Those with the last names beginning with C - 9:30 a.m. arrival Those with the last names beginning with D - 10:00 a.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with E through F - 10:30 a.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with G - 11:00 a.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with H through I - 11:30 a.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with J through K - 12:00 p.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with L through M - 12:30 p.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with N through O - 1:00 p.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with P through Q - 1:30 p.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with R through S - 2:00 p.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with T - 2:30 p.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with U through V - 3:00 p.m. arrival Those with last names beginning with W through Z We acknowledge the heavy traffic flow around the YMCA will be an inconvenience to individuals working or living in this area. We are excited to offer point-of-care COVID-19 antigen testing with the BD Veritor system. This is a fast and simple nasal swab that can provide results in as little as 15 minutes! For the safety of all patients and staff, we are requiring that COVID tests be done by appointment only, which you can schedule using the link below. If you are experiencing any problems, you may call the pharmacy and we will be happy to assist you with scheduling an appointment. A member of our s...taff will then call you for a brief questionnaire which must be completed prior to your appointment. When you arrive for your appointment please: Park in our parking lot (not on the street). Call us and remain in your vehicle. A staff member will meet you at your car. You will self-swab in your car under the supervision of the pharmacy. You may then leave and we will communicate your results to you. The price of the test is $65 and, unfortunately, we are unable to bill insurance at this time. https://jacksonstreetdrug.medicineshoppe.com/covid-19-testi
