Rx Education: Marijuana & Alcohol don’t mix on the road, and highly increase your chance of being in an accident. If you are high, drunk, or both... stay home, off the streets, and safe. #rxeducation #putitinparkb4youpartake

Snowy streets and icy intersections are NOT a good mix with marijuana. Keep your high off the road (and your legal record). Arrive alive don’t drive high. #RXEducation #ineverdrivehigh

RESPOND TO AN ACT OF VIOLENCE WITH AN ACT OF KINDESS A mother of eight found herself caught in the crossfire of a shooting at 79th and Troost in Kansas City on Thanksgiving evening. While she and her family are safe, this senseless crime killed one and left this busy family without a vehicle. Multiple bullets hit their van, totaling it. The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office and ArtsTech are leading efforts to raise funds to purchase the family a new van. Together as a commu...nity we can respond to this wanton act of violence with an act of kindness. DONATE NOW at https://www.gofundme.com/f/mother-of-8-caught-in-crossfire-

3,000 POTENTIALLY DEADLY FENTANYL-LACE PILLS SEIZED Just a speck of fentanyl can kill you. For most people a single two milligram0.00007 ouncedose would likely be lethal, according to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration. The synthetic opioid causes thousands of deaths in America every year.... That’s why the Jackson County Drug Task Force's seizure of 3,000 pills laced with fentanyl late this summer almost certainly saved livesand also sounded alarms. We initially thought they were OxyContin, says Drug Task Force Officer-In-Charge Dan Cummings. They looked like oxy. They were stamped like oxy pills. Turns out there was a heavy concentration of fentanyl in these tablets. That’s terrifying. COMBAT Director Vince Ortega puts the peril in stark terms: Any tablet with a heavy enough concentration of fentanyl in itand it doesn’t take muchcould be every bit as deadly as biting down on a cyanide capsule. https://www.jacksoncountycombat.com//Fentanyl-Laced-Pills-

HELPING CHILDREN GET ID THAT COULD PROVE CRUCIAL The Kansas City Police Department’s D.A.R.E. program hosted an event last Friday (September 4) at the MLB Urban Youth Academy to help make getting that descriptive information about a child out as quick as possible. The KCPD invited families to have their child participate in the EZ Child ID process, which includes getting photographs and fingerprints, and providing families with ID cards as well as an EZ ID Kit form. EZ Child... ID is a partner of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. COMBAT funds the Kansas City D.A.R.E. program and other law enforcement school-based initiatives throughout the county. Every day 2,000 children are reported missing across the United States.
