Hello Patients and Patient Families. It's us just reminding you of how important it is to get your children in for their well visits now. Even though COVID19 is real and scary, illnesses that have been around for years can really be scary if not prevented. Well exams aren't just for vaccines; they are for identifying developmental and speech and motor delays, anxiety and depression, learning disorders, heart murmurs, failures to thrive, vision and hearing concerns, neurological issues, skin and hair and nail changes, obesity, asthma/allergies, anemias, etc. Early intervention on many of these can be vital. Please consider scheduling your child's well check today. Our office is maintaining the separation of well and sick pt rooms and hours to ensure you the safest environment we can during these difficult times.

Do you feel that you or your family may have had COVID19 at some point and are interested in testing for antibodies? If so, please contact our office to be set up for a telemed visit to determine eligibility. Will need to have been at least 14 days from your symptoms and will be conducted at an outpatient facility. Children 10+, younger only if deemed necessary. If you are actively ill, this is not a test for you, please contact us for another type of visit if this is the case.

Are you a new parent during this COVID19 crisis? We are here for you. Please reach out with any concerns. Our offices have made adjustments to keep you and our staff as safe and healthy as possible and the American Academy of Pediatrics still recommends in office visits for children requiring vaccinations or other monitoring not recommended for telemedicine. Let's not let other diseases thrive while in this current pandemic. https://www.healthychildren.org//Tips-for-Coping-with-a-Ne

In these uncertain times, we want to remind our patients and families that we are still here for you daily in office and now with telemedicine as an option. If you have a computer or smart phone with video capability and wifi/internet with decent connectivity and bandwidth, this may be an option for you. See below some screen shots to help with logging on from the comfort of your home to speak with your provider. While some visit reasons: ADHD med checks, Asthma med checks..., and skin concerns, and other mild monitoring concerns may be perfect for telemed, we sometimes may still ask for you to be seen in person rather than electronically based on your individual needs. We are always ready and willing to work with you as best we can within our capability. And we assure you that we are continuing to take all precautions in cleaning and separating our clinic to minimize your exposure if you should need to venture out. Thank you for your continued support and patience. See more

While we miss all of our patients' smiling faces, we are glad everyone is abiding by the stay at home precautions/guidelines unless they are advised that they truly need to see us. Here is a reminder of how we are trying our best to keep you safe even if you need to venture out to see us: 1) From the hours of 8am through 12:30/1pm we will be dedicated to seeing only well children (children without fever or respiratory symptoms). Essential well visits requiring immunization... are still encouraged by the AAP at this time, particularly those patients 2 and under. Older children up to date on their vaccinations may consider delaying their regular scheduled visit until some of this pandemic settles. 2) The hours of 1:30-6pm will be dedicated to seeing ill children predetermined by phone to be seen in office will ill symptoms. We are not accepting walk-ins without a call first. We encourage our ill visits call when they arrive in parking lot and we will escort you through our back entrance to be seen to limit congregating in the waiting area increasing exposures to illness. 3) Some of your concerns may even be able to be addressed virtually from the safety and security of your own home utilizing your smart phone or computer device. Please call to inquire if you would like this to be an option. Thank you again for allowing us to play a part in your families' health and wellness during this trying time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to a Good Samaritan that dropped these by yesterday. There are Angels among us, folks!!! We are in this together. We sincerely appreciate the members of our community supporting us as healthcare workers during this trying time. That said, we are still here to provide care to those in need and taking the precautions we can to stay healthy ourselves.

We are here and open for your needs. If you are not sure whether your issue requires a physical visit, please call and you will be directed to someone who can assist you....bear with us as this sometimes can take a little while. Morning hours are now dedicated to children who are not physically ill but rather essential well visits and other concerns not involving respiratory symptoms, cold symptoms, fevers. These visits will be triaged and appropriately placed in the after...noon if we are able to see you physically. In the meantime, please utilize some of the information we will continue to supply you on our page (link below). Thank you. Due to the current stay at home order for Jackson counties, we will again be making adjustments for the safety of our staff and patients. Starting this Wednesday, only newborns and essential wells will be seen in the morning hours. No newborns will be seen after 12:30. Sick visits will be seen only after 1:30pm. Well visits that are not essential (ie: needing vaccinations) will be rescheduled. Please check your phones for a text message notifying you of this. Sick patie...nts will not be allowed to sit together in the waiting room. We also ask that only 1 caregiver be with the patient(s). Any additional caregivers or children are encouraged to stay home if at all possible to limit numbers in the clinic thus limiting exposures. Please bear with us as adjustments will likely continue to be made for your safety. We are all still in this together and we are still here for you. Health and wellness be with you and your families during this difficult time. See more

Independence and Lee's Summit Pediatrics 29.07.2020

Here at Independence and Lee's Summit your safety, health, and well-being are our main goals. Please understand that to ensure this we are adhering by current CDC guidelines. We are implementing some new screening guidelines and protocols. Bear with us as this is for the greater good. We are still open (our hours have not changed) to provide you with healthcare needs and still will provide care to all patients that are not deemed high risk (these will be directed through th...e correct venues as guidelines suggest). We are cleaning all day every day as per usual but even more so now. Sick and well patients will be handled differently and staff will instruct you on how we are doing this as the protocols may change as recommendations change. This virus is not causing us to panic and you should not either. But we all need to be prepared and cautious. At the front entrance before you enter the office doors, you will be asked a series of questions and based on your answers may need to return to your car and call us first. These questions will be asked over the phone as well to determine if you need care elsewhere so as not to expose others, whether you can be treated with supportive cares from home, or whether we can evaluate and treat you in the clinic. We appreciate every one of our patients and just want to let you know we are all in this together. #medical #coronavirus #family #wereallinthistogether #healthfirst #healthyandhappy #preventivecare #independenceleessummitpediatrics #health #love #cdc #aap #everychildneeds #aap2020 See more
