Theirs is a love bloomed at Bishop Spencer Place. Una and Clark spent their first Valentine's together last year at Town Topic Hamburgers, and this year they had Town Topic catered to an intimate corner of the beautiful Canterbury Dining Room. Congrats to the special couple! #SeniorLiving #Sweethearts

This week nearly 100% of our residents received the second dose of the #COVID19 vaccine. They said they did it for themselves, their neighbors, their family, and the community as a whole. #SeniorLiving

Check out the February edition of the Ambassador. Even if the groundhog saw his shadow, we have plenty of activities for our residents through the extra winter weeks. https://bit.ly/3jtHaj8 #SeniorLiving #25YearsStrong

How 'bout those Chiefs going to the Super Bowl two years in a row? Our plan invoLVes residents watching the game in their apartments, eating heart-healthy snacks, and cheering loudly when our boys in red score those game-winning touchdowns. What's yours? #SuperBowl #SuperBowl2021

This Black History Month, Saint Luke’s celebrates the contributions of Black Americans in the fields of science and medicine, and there are many to celebrate! From Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, who performed the first successful open-heart surgery in 1893, to Dr. Mae C. Jemison, America’s first Black female astronaut who spent much of her 190 hours in space studying possible treatments for motion sickness, anxiety, and stress-related disorders. And that’s just the beginning. Learn more with Saint Luke’s this #BlackHistoryMonth!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Bishop Spencer Place! Santa's elves are hard at work delivering eggnog to our ornament decorators. #deckthehalls #ChristmasMood

Cheers and praise for our amazing veterans of the United States Military who let us partake in their walk down memory lane! Their stories of adventure, justice, bravery, love, and war remind us just how much life is worth living! Then and now, you are all heroes. Thank you for your service. #veteransday

Since the Bishop Spencer Place residents couldn't go trick-or-treating this year, we brought the treats to them. We love Halloween, but we especially love to see the smiling faces of our residents. #CelebrateTheKind

Halloween could never ghost our Bishop Spencer Place team. We had an exceptionally entertaining parade special for our residents this Halloween.

Fell into fall, and walked right into winter. We're not sure what the Farmer’s Almanac says about the first snowfall in October, but we like to believe it’s going to bring good luck! Anytime of year, is a beautiful time to be at Bishop Spencer Place.

Spirituality, compassion, and integrity are values woven into who we are as a faith-based organization. Employees system-wide were recognized by their peers for carrying out the healing ministry of Saint Luke’s while demonstrating these values. We give a special congrats to our very own, Bishop Spencer Place teammate and Hope Award Winner, Cindy Richter! Watch the celebration here: https://bit.ly/HopeAward2020

Resident Mary Jo moved into Bishop Spencer Place a little over a year ago and was able to downsize yet keep sentimental pieces: the grandfather clock belonged to her parents, her favorite wing chairs, Keith's four-poster bed, and her favorite paintings. She even found a way to install the beautiful marble-top kitchen bar to "complete my new home filled with things that make me feel I am glad to be home again." Take a virtual tour of her home. https://bit.ly/30Z8iP6 #HomeoftheMonth

The pumpkin fairy delivered mini-pumpkins to Madison and Jefferson residents. Residents are encouraged to decorate their pumpkins and display for all to admire and enjoy. We can’t wait to post photos of our residents’ creativity!

It was the perfect fall day! We enjoyed the Bishop Spencer Place garden with leaves falling, sun shining, and the Sam Wisman Trio jazzing up the atmosphere! What a wonderful world, indeed! #FallingForFall

As promised, last month you met Helen's, dear Claudie. For October our pet of the month is his partner in crime, Cuddles. Cuddles is a black and brown tabby who never really grew up. When Helen puts him in the den, Cuddles gets nervous. Claudie will follow him and brush Cuddles' fur to calm him down. Helen brought these two gentle giants to Bishop Spencer Place because her home wouldn't be the same without them. #PetOfTheMonth
