Burnett believed that Pentecostal churches must prepare their young to answer to the questions of the age. A vibrant Pentecostal testimony, he asserted, provides an alternative to atheism, theological liberalism, and neo-orthodoxy, which were prevalent in many seminaries.
New at the archives: Correspondence and publications (1906-1910) from William F. Manley, a Holiness minister who identified with the Pentecostal movement at the Azusa Street Revival. A Manley family member deposited these treasures at the FPHC this week.

Stephen and Donna Krstulovich stopped at the Heritage Center today and deposited Steve’s important research on the history of Chi Alpha’s outreach to international college students in America, which was the basis of Stephen’s dissertation at AGTS. The materials, meticulously organized in five volumes and a hard drive, include transcripts of Chi Alpha video blogs and 45 oral history interviews, among other resources. We are grateful for Steve's important research into this vital student ministry that has been discipling and training leaders for almost 70 years.
Vazakas received the gift of tongues in the 1890s in Greece, where his family was persecuted for their faith. He immigrated to America and earned multiple graduate degrees at prestigious schools, ultimately serving as a professor of Philosophy and Greek at Evangel College.
Assemblies of God missionary David Plymire has deposited this handwritten Chinese New Testament at the Heritage Center! During the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), many churches were closed, pastors imprisoned, and Bibles and hymnbooks confiscated and destroyed. In order to preserve the Word, Chinese believers copied Bibles by hand. China Radio (an AG ministry) acquired several of them. This Bible was featured in a 2017 film about the history of China Radio, A Sound from Heaven.
Lottie Riekehof, one of the Assemblies of God's best-known pioneers of ministries to the deaf, went to be with the Lord earlier this month, just one week short of her 100th birthday.
