SHELTER SHENANIGANS at DOGWOOD ANIMAL SHELTER Here is Max... Peek-a-boo! I'm so happy to see you! Go ahead! I'll settle for a couple of fingers by my face! I don't need a whole-hand head rub - just a couple of fingers will do!... I love to be petted! I love treats too! In fact, I love LOTS of stuff like sleeping in your bed or going for rides in a car! I can sit, shake and give hugs! I'm a big guy so I can give BIG hugs! Oh, and I'm house trained too! It's fun to go out in the play yard! I have lots of energy and can run like the wind! And smart?! Sharp as a tack, that's me! My foster mom couldn't keep me but she told everybody at Dogwood I am a wonderful guy! Except for cats (I like cats), I need to be the only dog in an adult household. Oh! My name's Max! Here's peeking at you!

We love this time of year at the Park!

WOW!!!!! The garage sale benefitting the Bark Park was a huge success. So many people donated items and others gave generous cash donations. Thanks so much to Susie, Jim & Mary, Jared and Keith for all your hard work. We look forward to having another sale in the Spring, only bigger and better. Thanks again!

Don't Forget... This Friday (September 18) is the garage sale to raise money for the Bark Park. We will be at the park from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you have something you would like to donate, please bring it to the Bark Park by 8:00 a.m. Friday. We are not pricing any of the items. You can just give us a donation (generous we hope) for the items you want. The Bark Park is funded through private donations and is maintained by volunteers. It is a great asset to our community and we would appreciate your support.

We are going to participate in the Four Seasons Garage sale on Friday September, 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All proceeds will go to the care and maintenance of the Horseshoe Bend Bark Park. If you have anything you would like to donate, you can drop it off at the Park by 8:00 a.m. on Friday the 18th. If that does not work for you, please text Mike at 573-480-0153 and let him know what you have to donate. We will try to make arrangements to meet at another time. If you have nothing to donate, come on up and see if there is anything you would like to buy. We truly appreciate your help.

Inga is as close to a full blooded German Shepherd as we ever see at the shelter. She’s maybe three years old, walks pretty well on a leash, and sits for treats. She’s a bit anxious, as she’s never really gotten used to being stuck here at the shelter. She’s a beautiful girl, and very friendly. Go to the shelter website and fill out an application to take her home. Any help would be appreciated, as we’re at capacity now. No one was adopted yesterday, which is pretty strange for a Saturday. We hate to turn away strays, but we need to get some of these dogs adopted out so we have more room. Thank you. DOGWOOD ANIMAL SHELTER

Reminder... Dog Food is not allowed in the Bark Park. It is a health hazard to the dogs and a safety issue for dogs and owners. Food aggressive dogs can be do lots of damage and we certainly want to avoid that.

Hello! Red here! I’m a two year old Boxer/Heeler mix who loves EVERYBODY and loves to play! I’m also a Puppies for Parole graduate. I learned to sit, sta...y, and leave it on command! I really want my own family to love, maybe a toy or two, and TREATS! I love treats and toys, and I sure would love you! Yep a lot!
