This is great info for all of us, not just us firefighters. Most of you all know how to contact me if you need something.
Wanted to pass this along from our friends over in Boone Co.
Good morning all you fine Howard County folks. It's a beautiful day. Just wanted to let you all know that there is a wind advisory today, We will have the wind blowing until around 6pm. Winds will be from the South at around 25 mph and gusts up to around 45mph. With a South wind it will bring warm temps, low humidity. And we haven't had much rain so there is above average fire danger. Please don't do any outside burning today. We a week away from Thanksgiving. As you gather with your families, your Howard Co. firefighters will be doing the same, but rest assured that we will be ready to respond if we are needed. We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.
Good Eve. all you fine Howard County folks, just wanted to let you all the Station 2 firefighters will be down town New Franklin passing out candy on Halloween. Some of our extended fire Dept. family will be doing hot coco and hot cyider. All our candy will be prebagged, and masks and social distancing are recommended. Come by and see us, and above all while you and the kiddos are out please be safe.
Just a friendly reminder for all you fine Howard County folks for the first snow of the season. I know it seems way to early, but you can't predict what mother nature will do. Be safe and careful out on the roads tonight and make it home safely to your family.
Good morning all you fine Howard County folks. Well it feels as winter is upon us. It's sleeting here in New Franklin, and is building up on the grass and Halloween decorations. So please if you have to be out, be careful, slow down, give a little more room between you and the car in front of you. And please use caution around schools, watch for the kiddos crossing the streets. If you are going to Columbia be advised Cooper Co. has wrecks on I-70.
Just had a good friend send me a picture of a grain bin his brother started to empty. Corn is 18.5 moisture and that hole is 25 feet across. Please everyone be ...careful while unloading those grain bins. ( This is what a lot of grain bins will look like when the farmer starts pulling grain out. Be careful, have a saftey harness on and be tied off. Have someone helping you. Do not do this alone.) Please, Be safe!!! See more
