Old Mexico Gould’s turkeys. Gold of the Sierra Madres!! Congrats to the two guys that have these birds on there wall, Tony P. Hoskins & Tony Truitt. We all went to Mexico to see Manuel Enriquez of El Halcon Lodge & Outfitters. Don Frank ( Famous Taxidermist)hitched a ride to hunt the Gould’s for the first time with me. Man did we have a blast, hunting, food & awesome fun. I think it was my 6th trip to his place, but this time it was different as we were on the hunt to study t...urkey anatomy & cast bodies for my new line of turkey forms. Everyone got in on this part. Thanks to all the helped out. This trip is also where the new rock for the wall came to life. I had the idea in my mind for a while, Mike Vernelson got involved to work his Magic. We now have an AWESOME wall rock. This trip was very productive, we now have the start of the STM series turkey forms (Merriam/Gould) we casted them on site in Mexico. Big Turkey Heads!!! Everyone always ask me for big turkey heads. Gonna show you some BIG ones below. FYI- it takes a Gobbler several years to get a Super large head. I would say 3-5 years from what I have observed. Lots are big from being shot and fill with JELLY!! Aka JELLY HEADS!! But, Big heads have large detail on them.
