Driving safely is not just a law enforcement concern; it should be the concern of everyone traveling our roads and highways. We recognize that tonight some may take part in saying goodbye to 2020 and HELLO 2021. All of us at the Harrisonville Police Department ask that you celebrate responsibly and let’s welcome another year with love and happiness, not a DWI or tragedy. If you are planning on taking part in some adult beverages have a plan whether you’re driving, riding or... hosting. Here are a few tips: 1. Before drinking, plan a safe and sober ride home. 2. Don’t let someone get behind the wheel if that person has been drinking. 3. If you’re hosting a gathering, make sure everyone has a sober ride home. 4. Always wear your seat belt. It’s your best defense against impaired drivers. 5. If you see a drunk driver, call 9-1-1. From all of us to all of you, have a safe and Happy New Year.

Although we had to scale back some of our shop with a cop festivities this year we still had a great time helping 186 kids this Christmas. This program would not be a success without the tremendous support of our community. Thank you so much! Please enjoy some pictures from shop with a cop day #1.

What better to do this weekend when it’s raining and cold outside but watch another great Shop With A Cop video with some of our very own staring and put all together by some very talented Harrisonville High School students. Remember, there is still time to get those donations to us. Happy holidays from all of us at HPD.

Here is a little something to keep you going over the weekend. Remember there is still time to get us your donations, so we can try and help 200 children this year with our Shop With A Cop program. Also, this Saturday, Sonic on S. Commercial is selling raffle tickets for some great items, like bicycles and T.V.’s. Some of the Officers will be there helping off and on, so if you get hungry for a snack, stop by and help yourself and others at the same time. All of the proceeds from that are going to our Shop With A Cop program. Find yourself some popcorn and enjoy.
