Hey GSKSMO Troop Leaders and Troop Helpers... we hope you join us in EXCITEMENT as Camping 102 Blended Learning is here for fall! In this new course you will ga...in the courage, confidence and character to lead your girls in an outdoor campout and cookout! Participants will take part in an online course then complete an in-person skills assessment in order to complete this training. This online course & in-person skills training will fulfill council requirements to take girls permatent/tent camping and cook over a campfire. In-person skills assessments will be at Camp Tongawood on Oct. 3, 17 and 18 (morning and afternoon times for each date). Its with a heavy heart that the NLE 2020 Staff brings you this announcement. Northland Encampment has been canceled for 2020,however, we look forward to hosting this event in 2021! Individual emails have been sent to troops and Indy girls who registered. If you have not received the email, please reach out to [email protected]. Note**** ... We worked so very hard to not have to make this decision, But eventually felt it was necessary at this time. Our staff worked very close and had many discussions about the 2020 event. With change of dates due to COVID-19 and us reopening registration soon... Here will be an option to bring your best friends!

Good Evening! I want to thank everybody for their patience, and I want to thank my committee who has worked on this continually for the last week. A lot can happen in 7 days.... It is with mixed emotions that we announce that we are postponing Northland Encampment 2020 until September 11-13, 2020. The health of our girls, volunteers and the community at large is very important to us. This date was chosen for a variety of reasons. It gets us several months past the current social distancing requests. It avoids summer camps, both for our girls and for Wilderness Camp and Retreat. However, it allows troop leaders to ensure that they don’t have to chase troop members to renew their GS Membership for the next year before they can come. We are so grateful to Wilderness Camp and Retreat working with us to get this rescheduled so quickly. We are still working with our vendors and program people to move everything to the new date. What happens now? Our committee will continue to monitor the situation and work with all of our partners to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. If you are already registered for the May date, you don’t have to do anything. Everything will remain the same. If we have any questions about your registration we will reach out to you. We are allowing exchanges for girls and adults for anybody that needs it. It doesn’t have to be in the same troop or service unit. Our amazing Registration team will help you out with this process if you need it. In addition, we will reopen registration this summer. As these details are not finalized, we will make sure to update everybody as information becomes available. We will be announcing the new date for the leader meeting in the next couple weeks. We appreciate everybody being so understanding, and understand the disappointment that this brings. In the meantime, take care of yourself and othersand of course, wash your hands Thank you, Ally

Is your troop bridging this year? Consider hosting it while you're at NLE!! Friday, Saturday or Sunday this beautiful site will be open. It's a beautiful spot on the water. Imagine spring, the green trees, wildflowers.......ahhhhh

We're looking for weekend warriors. If you have a spouse, friends, family, parents, grandparents, who are available May 1-3rd, 2020 and can be put to work please comment or message us here. These warriors would be used to assist getting meals accounted for, restocking water, assisting with registration, etc......

Missing Ms. Linda as we grow closer to the event. She loved girls camping and doing ALL the things.

We have one more sleep!! Registration closes tomorrow evening. If you need additional time for a case by case situation please let us know asap. We want to make sure every scout has the opportunity to attend NLE.

Falling back to the first ever NLE tent city in 1997 @ Camp Winding River. This is a beautiful sight to see. Make sure your registrations are in! You don't want to miss it. 3 days left. Registration closes Feb 10th.

Fun fact of the day: you do NOT need to be 102 camping certified if you are 1. Participating in Saturday Day only activities AND OR 2. Have buddied with a troop who is already 102 certified. Asking around to your friends and fellow leaders to see if you can buddy is a great way to network. OR hitting the "I'd like to buddy" option during registration lets us know that you're willing to be paired with a new friend. Get those registrations in!! 4 days remaining.
