NOTICE OF POWER OUTAGE On Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 2:00 pm until approximately 5:30 pm, the teams from our Electric Department are scheduled to take an o...utage that will affect approximately 80% of our customers. While we strive very hard in our efforts to provide uninterrupted services to the community, our electric substation took a direct hit by lightning some time back and repairs must be made before additional problems are created by continuing to operate with the damages. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, however, for the efficiency of the work to be done and for the safety of our employees, the outage is unavoidable. Please make any preparations you may need for the time you may be without power on Sunday. Our hope by scheduling the outage for these repairs is to eliminate any unexpected outages from the previous damage that would force our crews to work in unfavorable conditions and leave our customers without any advanced notification. We have created a map that indicates the locations of power lines that will be affected by the outage. The coverage map is available on our website at www.cityofodessamo.com. While it does not provide information for specific locations, you can see the general areas affected. If you have questions during the outage on Sunday or need information, please call 816-230-5577 or 816-633-5521. We will have staff taking calls during that time. Also, please monitor the City's Facebook page for updates. Once power has been restored, if you have an electrical issue, please call the normal after hours utility number at 816-633-5521. We appreciate your understanding. See more
