The Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management echoes sentiments made by Springfield Mayor Ken McClure regarding Springfield Police Officer Mark Priebe. Officer Priebe sustained serious injuries while acting bravely in the line of duty, and our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Priebe and his family.

Greene County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) presents Ham Radio Technician Class and Testing. The class starts October 5th and continues October 12th, It will be held at the Public Safety Center, 330 W. Scott in Springfield. Each day starts at 8 am and runs until about 4 pm with a lunch break around noon. The lunch breaks are about an hour giving everyone time to go out and get a meal on their own. The book needed for the class is the 2018-2022 Technician Class... by Gordon West. This is an Amazon link,https://www.amazon.com/2018-2022-Technician-Cl//0945053908 to the book. There are other places the book can be acquired. Please be sure it is the 2018-2022 version. It is recommended to Study this book before coming to class as the class is a review of the information in the book. Testing -- The licensing test is the last half of the class on the 12th.
