GKCDS CE Meeting Updates: Please note the OSHA half-day program has been moved from June 12th to August 28th. Our July 13th rescheduled Endodontics meeting will take place on that date as of currently; however, a different topic will likely be discussed as our Endo speaker cannot travel in from California due to the restrictions.... Our September 18th inaugural Dental Symposium meeting that was supposed to be in Overland Park with the Fifth District Dental Society is being moved to fall 2021, when attendance size allowance is more predictable. However, we do plan on having a September 18th, 2020 regular meeting back at Adams Pointe Conference Center likely with the topic of practice management lectured by Ms. Lois Banta. We apologize for all the rescheduling; we have been trying our best to host our events as soon and as safely as possible, following government guidelines. We thank you for your understanding. We will update everyone if more changes are needed as the situation evolves. We hope you're well and we can't wait to see you!

As a precaution with the corona virus concerns, we will NOT be having our endodontic CE program this Friday featuring Dr. Cliff Ruddle. Instead, it is postponed until July 10th. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please contact the office with any questions.

We had a productive and successful House of Delegates meeting this past weekend in Jefferson City. Thank you to all whom gave their time to help represent the GKCDS at this important meeting! Also, congratulations to our very own, Dr. Robert Tait of Grandview, for being installed as MDA Vice-President!

MOMOM VIII took place last Friday in St. Joseph and over 500 were treated thanks to the generosity of the volunteers, sponsors, committee, foundations and MDA. Thank you to all who made the journey up to St. Joe for this event. You are truly making a difference and we are grateful to have such charitable and kindhearted members!

What a great turnout for our reception this afternoon at Teocali welcoming the incoming class of UMKC dental students! It was wonderful meeting so many of you all--thank you for joining us! The MDA, MDIS & GKCDS had some great student events late last week, including a well-attended and lively Food For Thought lecture by Dr. Brett Durbin of Springfield full of important tips for life directly after graduation! Later that evening, we had our annual "Progress Into Your Future" dental office tours event. The students got to visit three Briarcliff area general practice offices while enjoying a progressive dinner (so much delicious food!). A big thank you to Drs. ...Steve Frost, Wendy Weimer, and Leslie McClaflin for opening your offices up and hosting us and also to our wonderful sponsors of MDIS, GSK, & Hinrichs + Pesavento, CPAs. The GKCDS' Annual Holiday Social took place last Friday, November 30th at Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, KS. It was a wonderful evening! We celebrated new life members, outgoing Directors, Past Presidents, and the incredible service of our current President, Dr. Connie White. We also inducted new leadership for 2019! Thank you to everyone for your service and commitment to organized dentistry! Also, a big thank you to the MDA President, Dr. Dan Kessler, and Margie, MDA Governance Director for joining us in KC for this special event!
