Engine 1,2 Medic 1 and Battalion 1 on scene of a brush fire in the 5800 block of N Flora. Engine 1 reported a large brush pile burning and threatening at least one structure. Note: The City of Gladstone does not allow burning of brush or yard waste. Fire pits with logs are the only approved burning areas and is intended for recreational purposes. It is especially dangerous on windy days like today to burn outside.
**Notice** We will be in a Red Flag status from noon until 9pm this evening. Due to high wind conditions coupled the National Weather Service has issued this warning for Clay and surrounding counties. Please refrain from all outdoor burning today as the high winds could cause rapid fire spread. In the city of Gladstone it is against city code to have a fire in these conditions. Thank you for your cooperation.
Happy Birthday to C-Shift Firefighter/Paramedic Sam Smith! We hope you’re enjoying your day!
**Structure Fire** Just after 1 am, both stations were alerted to a report of smoke inside a residential structure in the 100 block of NW 61st Street. Battalion 1 arrived shortly after and reported light smoke throughout the house according to the residents on scene. ... Riverside Fire Department was requested for mutual aid. Engine 1 arrived and stretched a line to the garage and quickly located the source of the smoke to inside a wall. Crews worked for approximately 30 mins to find and extinguish a small fire. We are happy to report the homeowners were able to return to their home immediately afterwards. We would like to thank Riverside Missouri Fire Department for responding into our city to help and Evergy for their quick response. #GladstoneProud
**Apartment Fire** Shortly before 6 pm, both stations were alerted to a possible structure fire in an apartment complex. While en route, Gladstone MO Police confirmed there was visible flames from the apartment. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from the rear of a 4-plex apartment building. Engine 1 stretched a line to the back of the building and made an aggressive interior attack.... Kansas City Missouri Fire Department (KCFD)was requested for mutual aid. Crews worked for about an hour to bring the fire under control. One person was treated at the scene. No other injuries were reported. #GladstoneProud Gladstone Mo

**Commercial Fire** Around 6 am, a call was dispatched reporting smoke in a commercial building in the 6400 block of N Prospect. It was reported that construction workers arrived for work and found smoke inside the building. Station 2 arrived within minutes and found heavy smoke on the second floor of a large school building currently under construction. A mutual aid assignment was requested from KCFD. ... Crews located and forced a door on the second floor and found heavy smoke and fire damage. It was determined that a fire had been burning well before the workers had arrived, and due to the limited ventilation, snuffed itself out. Crews worked for just over an hour to overhaul and clear out the smoke inside the building. No injuries are reported at this time.
A Huuuuuge Thank you to Lowe's Home Improvement for their generous donation of cleaning supplies, gloves, masks, and BBQ grill. We will definitely put this to good use. Thank you so much for your kind donation!!!!!!!
Join us in wishing our own FF/Paramedic David DeBurra a happy birthday!!! We hope it's a great one!.
A huge Thank you to Clay County Senior Services and Senior Falls Prevention Coalition of Clay & Platte Counties for the donation of two Knox Boxes. The Knox boxes will be used on Residential homes of Gladstone residents in need. The Knox boxes are used to store a key to the home where our Fire Fighters and Paramedics can use to gain access when an emergency occurs, in this case most likely a fall where the resident can not come to the door. Thank you for your generous donation we can not thank you enough! https://www.facebook.com/SeniorFallsPreventionCoalition

Happy Halloween everyone! With this year being the year it is, we hope you can enjoy a little normalcy tonight. With that being said, here are some guidelines by the CDC to help make tonight even safer for the little ghouls and ghosts out there. https://www.cdc.gov//daily-life-co/holidays/halloween.html
Help us in wishing EMS Chief Tracey Cheney a very happy birthday! 27 and going strong!!!
Every Fire Station in the world has a little personality. We are no different. Here you see a coffee mug station that our own FF/Paramedic Justin Perez built and brought in today. This brand new mug station gives each person their own little space to keep their personal coffee mugs. Pretty cool huh?
Working hard..... did you know our crews perform most of the work on our fleet? We do this to keep costly repairs down and to keep our fleet in service. Instead of shipping our Engine 1 out for two days, we are able to get it back in service within an short amount of time and keep it in the city. Here you see FF/Paramedic Justin Perez working hard at replacing a coolant line connection and getting our truck back in service. Thanks Justin!!!!!!
Come see us at Happy Rock Park East for Trunk or Treat!!!! From now until 7:30 pm!!!!!! Lots of ghouls and goblins out there tonight. Remember, don’t feed the firefighters after midnight......
