The GAP is getting bigger...says body shops. Insurance estimates are getting lower and lower! We have been researching this and it seems that there are severa...l reasons why this is happening: (1) Insurance companies are expecting diminished value claims, therefore, they are writing lower estimates expecting to also pay for the DV loss (2) There is NO one policing the insurance industry. In other words, they are too big and practically lawless and can get by with almost anything with barely the slap on a wrist (3) The use of photo apps have gotten BIG and new insurance adjusters are barely out of college with NO experience and are simply writing estimates the way they are told to by management. THIS PRACTICE CREATES A SCARE TACTIC FOR VEHICLE OWNERS, WHEREAS, THE INSURANCE ESTIMATE IS SO LOW THAT THEIR CHOSEN BODY SHOP'S ESTIMATE APPEARS TO BE HIGH. IT MAKES ANY REASONABLE MINDED PERSON "QUESTION" THE SHOP'S ESTIMATE. IT CREATES AN ILLUSION THAT THE SHOP IS "HIGH" OR "CHARGING TOO MUCH" OR "CHARGING FOR THINGS NOT NEEDED". VEHICLE OWNERS BEGIN TO "DOUBT" THEIR DECISION AND GO SEEK OTHER ESTIMATES. THIS IS EXACTLY HOW SOME VEHICLE OWNERS ARE STEERED TO OTHER SHOPS AND WIND UP WITH POOR, UNSAFE REPAIRS! See more
